Lynette Jaramillo and Agnes C. Poore formed Casa de la Luz, LLC, in November 1998 with the intention of providing superior hospice care to the Tucson community. Lynette recently passed unexpectedly, and the company has been sold. Our NAWBO members wish Agnes and the Casa team the best!
A note from Agnes:
As I look back over these last 23 years at Casa de la Luz, I feel so proud and honored to have worked with an amazing group of people who have a depth of compassion and care that is beyond measure. I miss my dear friend, Lynette Jaramillo, who brought me into her dream and together we created something special. I wish she were here to share in this moment.
While we may have created it, it is the people with whom we have worked with and those we have served that have made Casa into what it is today. I have faith Casa de la Luz will carry on and be stronger because of it.
We recently completed deficiency free Medicare and Arizona State hospice surveys. Sometime after, I heard from one of the hospice surveyors, who emailed me with a question. But of note was this comment: "I also want to take this opportunity to congratulate you for what you have accomplished. I was extremely impressed not only with the way the 'business of patient care' was managed, but the true essence of your facility, the staff in it, and the best practice that I have rarely seen at this level." Her words are such an appropriate description of Casa and what it stands for.
Tomorrow begins my retirement. I love and will miss this amazing staff, but I know they will carry on and be Casa Strong.
Sincerely, Agnes C. Poore, Co-Founder
