MODERN

Born from early 20th-century experimentation, modern design remains a blueprint for interiors that feel calm, coherent, and quietly confident.

Often mistaken for contemporary, modern is rooted in Bauhaus rigor and Scandinavian clarity — where proportion matters, ornament recedes, and materials do the talking. Think streamlined silhouettes, purposeful geometry, and a restrained palette that leaves room for texture, light, and a few decisive moments of contrast.

What makes modern endure isn’t trend — it’s discipline. Spaces grounded in modern principles tend to breathe: cleaner sightlines, stronger spatial flow, and an ease that supports how people actually live. Whether expressed through sculptural furnishings, tailored textiles, or architectural details, modern design balances warmth with restraint: honoring craft, function, and timeless form in equal measure.

We have curated a sample of the current vendors that offer the best in the modern space: Bracci, Costantini Pietro, Hurtado, and Thayer Coggin.

Bracci

  • Ermes pairs a sophisticated thin arm with state-of-the-art power motion — touchpad controls independently adjust headrest and footrest for precise, personalized comfort. Two seat widths and full modularity adapt to any sofa or sectional configuration.
  • Lory combines minimal elegance with state-of-the-art power motion — touchpad controls independently adjust headrest and footrest for personalized comfort across all body types. Memory foam seat and back conform precisely to the body, while two seat widths and full modularity accommodate any sofa or sectional configuration.
  • Bubble is a stylish modern club chair with a great seating comfort which would look great in any interior décor.
  • Freedom is a chair with a sophisticated design which would look great in any room and furnishing style.

Costantini Pietro

  • Charlie is a tribute to Eastern culture. Stefano Spessotto’s table design gracefully combines the sleek lines of the tabletop with the stately cylindrical bases that provide support, resulting in a captivating juxtaposition.
  • A chair that experiments with the magic of forms and transparent effects. The curved polycarbonate backrest appears to disappear, so that Calipso blends effortlessly into the background and adapts perfectly to any space, with an added touch of class. Also available in the fully upholstered version.
  • Lido is ready to be personalized, featuring two padded elements joined in a single point and a tall backrest. Legs and seats are a single piece part of the curvy shape. Lido is available also as an armchair.
  • The original design gives Era Low an exclusive and unique appearance. The prominent beveled edges at the corners, tapering elegantly toward the back, define the distinctive profile of this sideboard.

Hurtado

  • Bond King Bed features a sculptural headboard in fine veneer meets an interlaced stainless steel base — geometric forms and irregular planes composing a signature silhouette that anchors any space with quiet luxury.
  • The Legacy Credenza pairs porcelain stoneware top with considered storage — two soft-close doors, two drawers, and an inner upholstered compartment with dividers, all operated by touch-latch. Available in multiple sizes and finishes.
  • Tone Cocktail Table pairs rounded forms with contrasting heights — lacquered wooden bases accented by metal detail create a sculptural composition. Use individually or as a set across various diameters to suit any modern setting.
  • The Connect Executive Armchair brings sleek design and premium materials to the modern workspace — a refined seat where versatility and comfort meet.

Thayer Coggin

  • The Curl modular seating system shapes dynamic, sculptural configurations through gentle curves and nesting forms. Tight foam/fiber backs and poly-down seat cushions with double-needle stitching deliver refined comfort. Fully customizable in curated fabrics or leathers.
  • Slender legs and hidden interior rails of the Blade Sofa create the illusion of suspension — a minimal profile without compromise. Poly-down seating and multiple leg options, fully customizable in curated fabrics, leathers, or COM.
  • With the Bond Lounge Chair, upholstery, acrylic, and metal accents converge in a midcentury modern statement that is equal parts art and comfort. Decorative metal discs in brushed stainless, brushed bronze, or satin brass. Available in curated fabrics, leathers, or COM.
  • Iconic "sling" arms and a tubular metal frame define this the modern silhouette of the Sling Chair & Ottoman. Down-filled, double-stitched cushions deliver lasting comfort and refinement. Available in multiple metal finishes, curated fabrics, leathers, or COM.

ARTE

Corium

Corium draws from Early Renaissance pattern-making, weaving authentic historical motifs into premium caprine leather — supple, strong, and impeccably finished. The name itself is Latin for leather, speaking to the collection's essential nature.

Satin-finished and nubuck surfaces are cut, stitched, and embroidered into compositions where material and design, tradition and modernity, hold equal tension.

Zephyr

Zephyr takes its name from the Greek god of the west wind — that gentle, pleasurable breeze. Each design channels this inspiration through fluid forms and sweeping lines, as if wind itself were moving through the space.

Natural sisal, velvety suede, and shimmering metallic foil add depth and tactility to the patterns, grounded in a palette of warm earthy and airy tones.

Outdoor vs. Performance

In today’s rug market, the term performance rug is often used alongside outdoor rug, but the two are not interchangeable. While they share some similarities, their construction, intended use, and performance standards can differ significantly.

An outdoor rug is specifically engineered to withstand exposure to the elements. These rugs are typically made from synthetic fibers such as polypropylene or PET, which resist moisture, mildew, mold, and UV fading. They are designed to handle rain, humidity, direct sunlight, and temperature fluctuations. Construction is usually flatwoven or low-pile to prevent water retention and allow for easy drying. In short, outdoor rugs prioritize durability and weather resistance above all else.

A performance rug, on the other hand, is primarily intended for indoor use but built to handle high-traffic areas and everyday wear. Advances in fiber technology have allowed manufacturers to create rugs that are stain-resistant, fade-resistant, and easy to clean while still offering a softer hand and more elevated design aesthetic. Performance rugs may use solution-dyed synthetics, treated natural fibers, or performance blends. They are ideal for homes with children, pets, or busy entertaining spaces.

The key distinction lies in environmental exposure. Outdoor rugs are constructed to survive the elements. Performance rugs are engineered to resist spills, stains, and heavy use—typically indoors. While some performance rugs can be used in covered outdoor areas, not all are designed for full weather exposure.

Understanding this difference helps designers and homeowners select the right rug for both function and longevity.
