Get to know Kim Chestnut

by Lexi Hittle

After a lengthy process, Washburn University has hired the new Vice President of Student Life. Kim Chestnut is not only responsible for overseeing several departments, but she is also in charge of advocating, supporting and adapting to students’ needs.

When Chestnut heard about the position, she started to research Washburn. She found an institution with a unique story. Not only was Washburn committed to providing everyone with a pathway to an education, but it also followed through with that mission. She is committed to meeting students’ needs.

“I’m going to show up to as many things as I can, I’m going to meet as many people as I can, and observe as many things as I can,” Chestnut said.
