The Message this Week

Preaching Text: Jeremiah 32:1-3a, 6-15

How we respond to the prophets - Part Three

Last week Jeremiah told the people who were in exile to “Bloom where they were planted." Get busy… Marry, have children, and plant the fields. Now God asks Jeremiah, who is imprisoned in Jerusalem, to buy a field in Anathoth in the midst of destruction and uncertainty. Trust God. Well, that’s easier said than done!

Sovereign and loving God, When we see the turmoil around us, it is difficult to see what the future might bring. Help us to do what we can and to know that you are God! Forever. Amen

WONDERING...

Real questions from real people to learn more about faith.

Why do we have difficulty trusting God?

  • Lead us forward in trust that we may do your will each day to the best of our ability.
  • Help us strive to set right what we can, that the earth might sustain our children’s children and beyond.
  • Be with all those children and young adults who are out of school for the summer.
  • We lift up to you all who are dealing with health challenges, physical, emotional, and spiritual, that they might receive the care they need and be strengthened for their journeys of healing, especially Ken & Sue Issel, and Ric Tornberg.
  • Strengthen the efforts and resolve of all who strive for an end to war, nuclear proliferation, and all forms of violence in our world, that we might move closer to your vision of peace for all peoples.
  • With joy we remember all who trusted you, even when they weren’t sure where life was leading them.
  • For all of those attending the youth mission trip next week: Kaitlyn Fels, Jack Fels, Abby Frazer, Lila Homewood, Dylan Kanzler, LJ Lata, Gianna Little, Emmy Niemann, Spencer Pearson, Grace Pryor, Riley Pryor, Audrey Stredde, Keegan Stredde, Jess Swanson, Joey Swanson, Joey Torrence, Nick Torrence, Lucas Vogt, Pastor Trudy Stoffel, Scott Ahlgrim, Michelle Lata, Faith Sax, and Kevin Swanson

Trusting in your unending grace for all that you have made, we lift these and the prayers of our hearts to your loving care. Amen.
