10 Most Affordable Bass Boats
|
|
Some bass boats can be expensive compared to many other types of boats that are the same size, but that doesn’t mean you have to spend an arm and a leg to buy a quality bass boat at a very affordable price-point.
In fact, plenty of modern, high-quality bass fishing machines come in well under the cost of an average new car ($36,718 in 2019, according to Edmunds), which would seem to be a reasonable cut-off point when judging affordability.
Start by exploring these new 2021 affordable bass boat models to ensure you're on the right track. Check out the full article here.

When Bassmaster Elite Series pro Drew Cook isn't traveling all across the country chasing largemouth you will likely find him somewhere off of the coast of Florida chasing multiple saltwater species. Cook and his crew recently fished the Emerald Coast Blue Marlin Classic out of Destin FL in the second smallest boat (a 35 seahunter) out of 88 teams. A smaller boat was not a disadvantage as Cook and company released a Blue Marlin and took 2nd and 3rd place in the Dolphin division, as well as 1st and 2nd in the Dolphin jackpot winning a total of $108,867.50 for their efforts.

Priorities Are Key To College Angling Success
|
|
Ever wonder what it might be like to juggle a full college schedule and also try to fish college tournaments? A recent college graduate/angler gave us his thoughts on how he kept his priorities in order while still competing at a high level on the water.
College fishing can be a very busy sport when combined with a heavy homework load due the same week of a big tournament. Many professors all make their due dates for big assignments the same without knowing there is a big tournament that same week. Depending on who the professor is, they will often shift assignment due dates around to work with the students.
Priorities
Setting priorities is a tough thing to do as a college student angler. There is no doubt that most college anglers went to college simply for the reason to fish tournaments against other college anglers. Because of this, it is not easy to put homework as a priority before fishing tournament success; however, it should always be the first priority because it can determine eligibility for competing as an angler. I can remember many times as an angler at Bryan College where my tournament partner and I both had to miss tournaments because we had a research paper due that same week. We wanted to put homework as a first priority because we knew we wouldn’t be able to focus on doing well at the tournament with us being as busy as we were. Getting burnt out from fishing can easily happen, especially in college when there are other obligations that must be done. I typically perform and execute better in a tournament when there aren’t other things for me to worry about and my full focus is doing well in that tournament.
Mental Aspect
Obviously, you can only control what you are capable of controlling in a tournament situation. For example, if you give yourself enough practice going into a tournament, prepare mentally for what is to come, and have your tackle prepared beforehand, then everything else will fall into place if it is meant to happen. Mental preparation is key to making the right decisions in a tournament, and execution goes hand in hand with mental preparation. It is easy to get spun out mentally in a tournament when things aren’t going your way, but it is important to keep your head on straight when setbacks happen.
When practicing for a tournament, it can be easy to get mentally drained and lose confidence. This is a set up for disaster going into a tournament because you are not mentally in it anymore. If I am having a bad day of practice and start stressing out because my plans are not coming together, I have always been better off taking a break and gathering my thoughts back at the hotel, getting a good night’s rest, and going back out early the next morning to try again. Another thing that has helped me in a practice situation is to start graphing and looking around when it gets tough and the fish aren’t biting. Always take advantage of the practice time you have, but always make sure you are mentally in it and motivated. Even when my partner and I have had a good tournament finish, our practice has hardly ever, if ever been successful at all. My point of saying this is to express that your practice does not determine your tournament results; therefore, it is important to always keep a positive attitude, even after a tough day of fishing.
Be Positive
Keeping a positive attitude is often easier said than done, but it is key to success in anything that you pursue. When you love something as much as you do, then you will have the motivation to succeed and get better while also being thankful and not taking anything for granted. Being able to go fishing as much as I do is such a blessing, and it can be easy to take it for granted when bad days of fishing happen. However, the reality is that bad days will occur in anything that we pursue as humans, but the good days will outweigh the bad ones if we love something as much as we love fishing. Keeping a positive attitude will not only benefit your mental mindset, but it will also have a positive effect on others.

|
|
In today’s times when just about anything new in the industry gets coined the phrase “Game Changer” (Overused Greatly) We are going to discuss a bait that was once a REAL “Game Changer” in the industry.
This bait not only “broke the internet” when it was initially released, commanding 3 to 4 times its retail value. Today it continues to break into new user's tackle boxes and still catches tons of fish like it always has!
Basstrix Lure Company
History:
Basstrix Lure Co was established in 1995 by Bruce Porter. Bruce is a premier lure creator and innovator in the swimbait world. Bruce is still a part of the company and strictly focuses on Research and Development for future products.
Today:
In 2021, it was time for Basstrix to again innovate with the angling experience and fresh perspective of CEO Brian Evans. Evans will guide the company into the future of the sport of fishing. While continuing to manufacture previous models from the past, the company will focus on new models, techniques, and innovation to develop exciting new products.
"We are venturing into technologies that have never been used before in the fishing lure industry. Our goal is to make fishing lures that do one thing for anglers of all skill levels: catch more and bigger fish. As we move forward, our focus is based on quality control, realism, and functional unique actions that trigger fish to bite. Basstrix will continue to manufacture every bait hand made one at a time in the USA.” said Evans.
