Just a quick email to touch base and to first let those of you in NYC know about a freeBrooklyn College Global Jazz Big Bandconcert I'm directing tomorrowat 7 pm (Tues. Oct. 29th) at their brand new Tow Center for the Performing Arts in Topfer Recital Hall (on the SECOND floor, room 250). The building is across from Whitehead Hall (
(near Campus Road) on the main campus. The concert will feature the world premiere of SIX original compositions - 2 by myself and 4 by Brooklyn College student composers (with whom I've been working/advising). Feel free also tocontact me if you have questions about the Brooklyn College Global Jazz Masters program or if you're interested in potentially applying for Spring/20 or Fall/20.
My new CD, "D.D. Jackson: Live at Freedom of Sound (solo piano)" is also now out and is thankfully being well received. If you'd like to support me directly you can purchase it (streaming/digital download, or physical CD) along with options for additional bonus content at: http://ddjackson.bandcamp.com(it will also be available widely on all other platforms in the near future).
For those in the Toronto, Canada area, I will also be doing a special release party performance (solo piano and trio, plus potential guests!) next month, on Sat. evening Nov. 16th, 2019 (more details to follow!)ra
Finally, for those out there with kiddies I thought you might enjoy this song I wrote/produced a while ago for Sesame Studios in honor of Halloween (words by Carl Kissin!):
I should add: please don't hesitate to contact mefor any of your producing, composing, arranging and performing needs, as I'm available and always on the lookout for newprojects and potentialcollaborations! And Happy Halloween! - D.D.,
