Ruby Award 2025- Liz Granskog

Formerly the Soroptimist Making a Difference for Women Award, established in 1974 in honor of International Women’s Day, the name was changed to the Ruby Award to celebrate Ruby Minar, the first federation president. Its purpose is to recognize women who, through their professional or personal efforts, are making extraordinary differences in the lives of women or girls. Honorees are women who have done that with effectiveness and heart. This award comes with a $1,000 that the recipient can donate to a charity of her choice.

Volunteers Needed for

Chico Children's Choir Event

The Children’s Choir of Chico is seeking volunteers for their gala fundraiser at the Elks Club on Saturday, March 22, starting at 4:30. This event includes dinner, an auction, performances by their various choirs, and dancing to the music of the Decades. We will help at reception and possibly in other capacities.

Dream It Be It 2025!

Mark your calendars for our 2025 Dream It Be It program on Saturday, April 5. This is a joint project of SI Chico and SI Bidwell Rancho. It will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church and a sign-up for volunteers will be coming soon.

We have an exciting new format and look forward to an excellent day with the high school participants.

Paying Tribute to Jean Eaton

Jean Eaton of Soroptimist, St. Albans died at the age 82, on December 29 last year, with her funeral being held on January 29. Jean visited SI Chico and met many members here. She was a friend of Margaret VanLaanMartin who has also visited our friendship link club in St. Albans, England.
