Greetings!
The 2nd Sunday in Ordinary Time invites us to behold Jesus as the Lamb of God and to embrace our mission of sharing God’s salvation. The readings reveal God’s call, Christ’s identity, and the varied ways people respond to Him.
John the Baptist recognizes Jesus as the Lamb of God—the One who takes away sin and restores us to the Father. His witness encourages us to slow down and notice the quiet signs of God’s presence: moments of love, peace, and kindness that reveal the Spirit at work today. John’s humility also shines through; he knew his role was to lead others to Christ, not to draw attention to himself. His words, that he must decrease so Christ may increase, echo the call to put Jesus first.
Isaiah reminds Israel—and us—that God’s mission is expansive. The servant is chosen not only to restore Israel but to be a light to all nations. God’s salvation is meant for the whole world, and we are invited to share in that mission of hope and renewal.
In the Gospel, the Spirit descends upon Jesus, confirming Him as God’s chosen One. Paul greets the Church with grace and peace, affirming that believers are a people set apart by God’s love, called to unity even amid challenges.
Together, these readings highlight Jesus’ mission and our response. Like John, we are called to point others to Christ with humility. Like Isaiah’s servant, we are called to be light. And like the early Church, we are called to live in grace, peace, and faithful witness.

This past weekend, as we celebrated the beautiful Feast of the Baptism of the Lord, our parish family was blessed to welcome Charlee Dierickx into the life of grace through the sacrament of Baptism. We rejoice with Charlee and her loved ones on this special day!
May the light of Christ shine brightly in her heart, and may God’s loving presence guide her every step as she grows in faith and walks the journey of discipleship.

Pat Reddeman, Volunteer Retirement
We share with mixed emotions that Pat Reddeman, our dedicated volunteer record keeper, is retiring after 16 years of faithful service to our parish. Pat has lovingly cared for the important sacramental records that mark the spiritual milestones of our community. Her commitment and attention to detail have been a true blessing to our parish family.
We are deeply grateful for Pat’s years of hard work and devotion, and we pray that God continues to bless her abundantly in this next chapter of life. Thank you, Pat, for your generous heart and for serving our parish with such grace and faithfulness! We will miss her.

As we conclude the Jubilee Year, Pilgrims of Hope, we pause to celebrate the spiritual growth and transformation that have marked this journey. This year has been a time of grace, renewal, and deepening faith. Let us carry forward the spirit of hope inspired by Pope Francis and Pope Leo, allowing it to guide us through the years ahead—emotionally and spiritually—always as true Pilgrims of Hope.
In moments of darkness, may we never lose sight of the light. In his Bull of Indiction for the Jubilee Year, Pope Francis reminded us that hope is a gift planted deep within every heart: “In the heart of each person, hope dwells as the desire and expectation of good things to come, despite our not knowing what the future may bring.” He acknowledged that many face discouragement, looking toward the future with skepticism and doubt. Yet, his prayer for this Jubilee was that it would rekindle hope in every soul.
In Pope Leo's comments on January 6, 2026 remind us "Loving and seeking peace means protecting what is holy and, consequently, that which is newly born like a small, vulnerable, fragile baby. Around us, a distorted economy tries to profit from everything. We see how the marketplace can turn human yearnings of seeking, traveling, and beginning again [like the Holy Family and the new year] into a mere business. Let us ask ourselves: has the Jubilee taught us to flee from this type of efficiency that reduces everything to a product and human beings to consumers? After this year, will we be better able to recognize a pilgrim in the visitor, a seeker in the stranger, a neighbor in the foreigner, and fellow travelers in those who are different?"
As we close this sacred year, let us reflect on the words of Mother Luisita, a Carmelite Sister: “So, you are experiencing some bitter days and others that are sweeter. Such is life. Great sorrows precede joys and vice versa. Live in hope.”
May these words echo in our hearts as we step forward with courage, faith, and unwavering hope.

We’d love for you to become a registered member of Resurrection Catholic Parish!
Registration is a wonderful way to feel truly connected and cared for within our faith community. It helps us keep you informed about parish news, events, and opportunities to grow in your spiritual journey. Being registered also ensures you receive the support you need for sacraments and pastoral care—and it’s required to be eligible to serve as a Godparent at Baptism or a Sponsor at Confirmation. Most importantly, registration is a beautiful expression of your commitment to building a spiritual home—a place where you can worship, belong, and share your gifts with others.
Thank you for being a part of our parish family.

What is it to Discover the Wonder of Eucharistic Miracles?
Eucharistic miracles are extraordinary signs where God makes the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist visible—such as a consecrated Host becoming flesh or blood, surviving fire, or providing miraculous nourishment. These events, carefully investigated and approved by the Church, strengthen our faith in this profound mystery.
The Vatican International Exhibition of Eucharistic Miracles, created by St. Carlo Acutis, features over 100 documented miracles from around the world. This is a duplicate of his exhibit, which is filled with stunning photos, historical accounts, and scientific studies, the exhibit invites us to rediscover the beauty of Christ truly present in the Eucharist.

Join our 2026 Lenten Small Group
Here is feedback shared by a parishioner who has participated in a previous Lenten Small Group—reflections that highlight the meaning, community, and spiritual renewal these gatherings inspire.
“Week after week, we’ve had lively discussions based on the readings and journaling. Everyone seemed to feel relaxed and safe about sharing. This year, the format of working with our books several times during the week was a good habit-builder.
Sticking with a weekly topic got me thinking more about it, coming back to the theme from different angles. Also, I got to make new friends by sharing in our cozy, comfortable environment.”
As always, you are invited to participate in a variety of practices designed to help us grow closer to God as we prepare our hearts for Easter.
- Lenten Small Groups – Starts January 31, 2026
- Ash Wednesday – February 18, 2026

As we step into 2026, our hearts are anchored in reflection on God’s limitless love, trusting that He continues to look upon each of us with mercy, tenderness, and purpose.

In December, through your generous financial gifts and pantry donations, Saint Vincent de Paul was able to bring hope and help to those in need. Together, we delivered food and essential items to 23 families—serving 66 adults and 33 children. In addition, we assisted 18 households, supporting 44 individuals with $3,259 toward rent and utilities.
Your generosity makes a profound difference in the lives of our neighbors. Thank you for being the hands and heart of Christ to those who need it most!

A qualified charitable distribution (QCD) allows individuals who meet the age requirements old or older to donate up to one or more charities directly from a taxable IRA instead of taking their required minimum distributions.

Required minimum distributions (RMDs) are the minimum amounts you must withdraw from your retirement accounts each year. You generally must start taking withdrawals from your traditional IRA, SEP IRA, SIMPLE IRA, and retirement plan accounts when you meet the age requirements.
