Birch Equipment Diesel Technology Scholarship
|
|
Since 2017, Birch has awarded scholarships to students enrolled in their 2nd year of Bellingham Technical College's Diesel Mechanic Program. The $2,000 Birch Equipment Diesel Technology Scholarship goes to applicants demonstrating leadership, drive and innovation. Winners are invited for an on-site tour and lunch at Birch.
Birch Equipment is presently expanding scholarship programs to Skagit and Snohomish Counties. Birch is also planning to pick up equipment in the used market to donate to area tech schools which will give students the chance to work beyond trucks and diesel engines and train on complex electrical systems and hydraulics.

Birch Helps Students Connect with Careers |
|
Since 2001, Birch has worked hard to connect with students and educators K-12, technical students and college students with tours, lunches and Business Shadows at all Birch Equipment locations. Students learn about the diversity of Birch careers available and the high level of careers and work offered in Washington’s locally-based businesses.
During the pandemic, Birch outreach has continued through the Yes Whatcom Virtual Career Fairs with area high schools.
Birch also partners with Junior Achievement of WA and area schools for Business Shadow facility tours, AGC of Washington's annual King County Construction Career Day and works with area schools to provide scholarships, internships and apprenticeships.
