Greetings Connect K8 Families,
We hope you've enjoyed your short week, and we wish all families who observed, a very meaningful Yom Kippur!
Our staff spent our Professional Development Day continuing our exploration of Universal Design for Learning strategies and framework, as well as intentional lesson planning and anchoring ourselves in the purpose of Student Led Conferences as we begin to dream about those upcoming experiences with students and families.
If you are someone who is interested in your own professional development, we highly recommend keeping up to date with the Speaker Series @ the Willows! Their next event on the 23rd features Dr. Lisa Darmour, who will be presenting: "Managing Stress, Anxiety, and Parenting Under COVID-19"!
We also want to be sure you are aware that we have COVID testing available for DV students every school day. Students can take a rapid covid test (results in 15 minutes) at Da Vinci Connect in the health office between 845a-230p, no appt needed. It is required that parents pre-register for testing here. This is a resource for use anytime, you do not need to be symptomatic or exposed-- safe, free testing is one of many ways we aim to keep our community healthy!
Take Care,
Kaitlin and Tami

Student Led Conferences
Oct. 11-14
Next week, you should receive an explanation of and sign up for Student Led Conferences! This is one of our signature (and mandatory) practices at Da Vinci Schools, where students have an opportunity to lead a conversation around their learning, success, and academic needs with adults who support them!
This semester, Da Vinci Schools will be holding SLCs virtually. Therefore, to accommodate 1:1 meetings with each family, Monday October 11th will be a homeschool day for everyone. Friday October 15h is a PD, and there will be no school.
