Hey Grove Family!
How are ya?!
Okay, so a band spent months in our rooms writing, rehearsing and sanding down songs. Now those songs are an album.
Real talk: that's the best thing that can happen to a studio.
A Whole Album, Born in Our Rooms
Meet The Minor Pieces: Markus Hartnett, Mike Francis, Brian Williams, Charlie Reischl and Tony Pace. Southeast Michigan Americana band. New band. First album.
This Friday, they celebrate that album at The Ark in Ann Arbor.
The Show
- Friday, Nov 6 at The Ark in Ann Arbor. Doors 7:30PM, show 8PM.
-
Tickets run $29 to $40 on The Ark's page.
- Hunter Neff w/ Michael Harrington opens.
- The Ark calls the sound Americana, folk and roots rock, with soulful vocals and smooth guitar. Timeless and modern, both at once.
What We Heard
On Oct 14, the band recorded an Acoustic Alternatives session with John Bommarito, right here at Grove. Hartnett and Francis wrote the songs, including "Abilene," "Down From The Mountain," "About You and Me" and "Bad News."
John thinks it was their first full band interview. You'll hear how the band formed and a bit about each member. He'll also tell you the audio's flawed (the mix was great, the feed to his recorder not so much). We love an honest host.
The Grove Part
Look, you can write a great song in a bedroom. But five people and a full band's worth of gear don't fit in one. Neither does a neighbor's patience.
So this band spent months at Grove. Writing. Rehearsing. Refining. No clock ticking, no one hovering. That's literally why we built Grove.
Got a five-piece of your own? Our Classic Studio fits up to a 5-person band, with a great drum kit, a Fender Twin Reverb, and an Egnater Tweaker ready to go. Pricing shifts by time of day, so check grovestudios.space for current rates.
Book a room. Bring your gear. See what happens. Maybe it ends up on a stage in Ann Arbor.

Watch the session
Their clips run on our socials all this week, starting today, leading up to Friday. Catch them on Instagram and YouTube.
Then go to the show. BEAUTIFUL things happen when a local band gets a real room.
