U.S. Senate Officially Declares October 8 National Hydrogen & Fuel Cell Day!

The Fuel Cell & Hydrogen Energy Association (FCHEA) is pleased to share that the U.S. Senate passed via unanimous consent S.Res.936 which officially designates October 8, 2026 as "National Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Day". This is the 12th year of getting this federal resolution cleared in the Senate and a powerful bipartisan endorsement of hydrogen and fuel cell technologies and their contributions to the U.S. and global energy economy.

With the unexpected passing of our industry’s long-standing champion Senator Lindsey Graham (SC), we are extremely grateful for Senator Bill Cassidy (LA), who worked to ensure passage for this resolution as the Republican champion this year alongside long-standing Democratic lead Senator Richard Blumenthal (CT). Senators Chris Coons (DE) and Chris Murphy (CT) were also co-sponsors on the resolution.

If you are planning any activities for National Hydrogen & Fuel Cell Day, please make sure to let us know!  FCHEA will share all our member organizations' activities and other interesting events or announcements on the official National Hydrogen & Fuel Cell Day webpage as well as on FCHEA's social media channels.

Please contact Jennifer Gangi with any event details so that we are appropriately coordinated and can help amplify or support your efforts.
