Dear Friends of AHP,
We would like to make you aware of this webinar by Dr. Margaret Gove Bloomquist of the Department of Horticultural Science at North Carolina State University who will provide instruction on how to do botanical pressings. AHP is constantly looking for pressings as the foundation for authenticating the botanicals used in our AHP-Verified Botanical Reference Material (BRM) program. We get some beautifully developed pressings that are like works of art (thank you Robin Suggs of Appalachian Herbs, Don Semanisan of Herb Pharm, Dorey Moran of Pacific Botanicals, and Jenn Daizey at Bastyr University), while some we receive may be a bit shaky.
Needless to say, botanical pressings are the foundation of plant identification and GMP compliance for small herbal product producers and we can all use pointers on how to develop these properly.
The Lilium Initiative, spearheaded by Montana botanist, herbalist, and friend Robyn Klein, is producing wonderful content of value to the herbalist community at large. We encourage you to check them out. It only costs $50 for an annual registration fee to have access to their content and it is well worth it. To join, visit https://liliuminitiative.org/join-us-today
