Kia Ora!
At last, the day we had all been waiting for finally arrived and New Zealand borders are now fully open to everyone! International students can now study on campus in NZ, migrants can now enter NZ to work, families can reunite with loved ones, and tourists from around the globe can once again visit this fantastic country to enjoy its world-renowned scenic beauty.
New beginnings: The NZ Government has announced a new Investor category visa for wealthy foreign investors willing to pump vast amounts of money into the NZ economy. The aim is to boost the economic growth of the country. Besides this, three new Residence category visas have been announced to enable NZ employers to attract and hire skilled migrants.
For all those of you who had lodged your NZ visa application just around the time the borders were closed and the application has been kept on hold, you must remember to inform Immigration New Zealand (INZ) about any changes that might have taken place in your circumstances, whether it is related to your medical condition, partnership status, employment, adverse immigration history or something else. I have included a very informative article related to this topic in this newsletter.
I have also included two very important INZ Visa Paks. One is about providing the correct medical certificate when lodging an application. The other is about how partnership applications will be assessed by INZ when the applicant or the supporting partner is already married or in a civil union with someone else. This does not mean a visa will be issued even if the applicant or the supporting partner is already married or in a civil union with another person. What it means is that INZ will now assess such applications on a case-to-case basis based on the information provided with the application.
The new Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV) was opened to applicants last month. All employers must note that the next step for them is a Job Check which is the most critical part. You can read about how to do a successful job check in this newsletter, and if you need assistance with the AEWV, we are always there to help you.
Do read about the joint research projects between New Zealand Universities and the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) and how the NZ government is trying to put the country back on the map in 2022-23.
Since New Zealand is now open to all international students, don’t miss the section on the popular courses in New Zealand- Master of IT Project Management, NZ Diploma in Construction & Quantity Surveying, Bachelor in Applied Management and Bachelor of Quantity Surveying (construction), to name a few.
Last month we held a webinar on Study in New Zealand in collaboration with WITT and Toi Ohomai. A recording of the same has been included in this newsletter for those of you who missed it.
Don’t miss the Immigration News section for information about the border opening, Immigration Rebalance & its importance and other interesting topics.
