🌟 VIP Spotlight: Peter Zoldan🌟
We would like to take a moment to recognize and celebrate our amazing Weed Warriors VIP, Peter Zoldan. Over the past few months, as Weed Warriors navigated a supervisor transition, Peter has been an incredible source of support and reliability. He has consistently made himself available whenever needed and has gone above and beyond to help ensure each shift runs smoothly.
Peter has been a tremendous help to both Taro and Sofia, assisting with setup, breakdown, and everything in between during Weed Warrior shifts. His dedication, positive attitude, and willingness to step in wherever help is needed truly make a difference.
Thank you, Peter, for all that you do. We genuinely would not be able to do what we do without you. Your commitment and extra effort do not go unnoticed, and we are so grateful to have you as part of the Weed Warriors community! 🌱💚
From the entire team: thank you! We are endlessly grateful for every single one of you.

🌟 How Did We Shine?

For VIP Jack "Fantastic guided walk today! Lots of local and historical context and just fun facts about the park delivered in a very engaging and friendly manner. Thank you!"
For VIP Sylvia "For giving me the opportunity to become a Junior Ranger"
For VIP Denine "She gave great guidance down in the tidepools and told us how to get to the visitor center!"
From the entire team at Cabrillo:
THANK YOU for your commitment, your spirit, and your love for this special place. 💙🌊🫶
You are the soul of this park, and we are so lucky to have you. 💛

VIP Moments in Action 🦸♂️🌿
Greenhouse, Weed Warriors and TPERP volunteers have been hard at work this month!
- Greenhouse VIPs have been hard at work planting around the park like Peter planting on top of the Oceanside trail.
- TPERP VIPs have been extremely hard at work throughout these crazy king tide days educating visitors on safety and stewardship!
- Weed Warrior VIPs have been hard at work clearing the invasive plant species from around the lighthouse!
Thank you to all our everyday park heroes. 💚

🐢 Talk Highlight: Sea Turtles of San Diego Bay🐢
We had a super successful and energizing talk with Anna Cahill, who shared fascinating insights into the sea turtles found right here in San Diego! From their behavior and habitats to the important research helping protect them, Anna’s presentation was both engaging and eye-opening.
One of the crowd favorites? The real-life examples of sea turtle tags Anna brought along, giving everyone a hands-on look at how researchers track and study these incredible animals in the wild.
A huge thank you to all the VIPs who came out to join us. We hope you enjoyed the opportunity to learn from such a knowledgeable expert. We’re grateful for your enthusiasm and can’t wait to bring you more exciting programs like this! 🌊✨

Weed Warriors Update🌾
Our Weed Warriors are hard at work while the park continues the search for a new Invasive Plant Specialist. In the meantime, Taro, Sofia, Patricia, and Hannah continue leading Weed Warrior sessions around the Lighthouse every Tuesday and Thursday at 8:45 am.
Want to join the effort? Please sign up for a shift (or two!) on Volgistics and help protect our park from invasive plants.

Greenhouse Update🌿
The Greenhouse crew has been busy planting around the Visitor Center and along the Oceanside Trail. We’re thrilled that the rain keeps coming as it makes our work much easier and allows us to get even more plants in the ground! The team is also continuing to sow new plants in the greenhouse and transplant young plants as they grow, keeping the cycle going strong.
