VOICE OF THE GAVEL

Hello Brother and Sister Artisans;

  As we start off the summer I can say for sure that the first half of the year we were all kept very busy by all of the Artisan activities and events that were held so far this year. The 150th anniversary show and dinner was a big hit with the members who attended this fun filled event. Ocean City was a lot a family fun with the St. Johns pool party and a concert by the Hobo band as some of the highlights of the weekend. As we get ready to cruise into the second half of the year we have a lot of fun activities planned. There are a few trips, such as the cruise to Greenland and a trip to Hershey, planned for the fall. There will be a Halloween party for the Juniors, another game night and some bingos for our junior & Senior members.

Please make sure to read your Artisan and check our Facebook page and the Artisan website to keep up with all the upcoming activities and events.

Fraternally,

Carla Werner - M.E.M.A.

UPCOMING EVENTS

See attached flyers at end

The annual St. Johns ladies night was well attended with over 60 Artisans in attendance for their annual show and cake baking contest. The mummers string band trio was a big hit with our members. There were twelve cakes entered in the cake baking contest. The judges worked hard to come up with the winner, Bonnie Greens banana split cake, which was delicious!

The 150th Anniversary celebration was well attended with 150 persons coming out to celebrate this milestone for the Artisans. The filet mignon and crab cakes were delicious and the Rat Pack show was fantastic. Each member in attendance received a nice 150th anniversary pin, pen and glass.

M.E. SUPERINTENDENT LETTER

Hello Juniors!

Hello Summer! Now that our Juniors are out of school it's time for them to enjoy themselves with outside activities. We had our annual Ocean City weekend in the beginning of June and everyone I spoke to said they really enjoyed the pool party, amusement rides, mini golf and searching for those lucky numbers in the annual treasure hunt. Over 80 members won a treasure hunt prize this year. The weekend was beautiful and the weather couldn't have cooperated better.

Our next event will be a family bingo that will be held on September 20th, more details will follow.

Please check our website and Facebook page for details on all of our upcoming events. Have a great summer and I hope to see you in September.

                                                Fraternally yours,

                                                Helen Szafran, M.E.S.

Ocean City wrap-up:

Our 76th annual Ocean City was a big hit with our members. The weather was bright and sunny the whole weekend. The St. Johns pool party was well attended with our members enjoying the pizza and water ice along with the pool games and music.

Young and old alike went next door to the Castaway Cove amusement pier to enjoy the rides and fun there. Finally later on in the evening our members were entertained by the Hobo band at the Music Pier. It was another great Artisan event and everyone is looking forward to the 2024 family weekend.
