This session explores the “soft skills” side of inspection: managing homeowner expectations, reducing liability through clear reporting, and building public trust in inspection professionals. It will also discuss how home inspector vs. jurisdictional liability increases the importance of thorough communication to all stakeholders using the home inspection report.

Mark Goodman: Regional Vice President & Senior Commercial Inspector, BPG Inspections | 2024 ASHI National President | ASHI St. Louis Chapter President (2025, 2023, 2018–2019)

Mark is an active residential and commercial inspector managing BPG Inspections' Missouri and Southern Illinois markets. A national speaker and Realtor CE instructor, he is a Certified ASHI Inspector, St. Louis ASHI Past-President, and Missouri SAVE Coalition Volunteer Inspector. He brings 20 years of professional experience.

Duane Morrison: Founder, Morrison Plus Property Inspections® | ASHI Board of Directors (since 2024) | CREIA Membership Chairman (since 2018)

Duane founded Morrison Plus Property Inspections® in 2007 and has completed over 7,000 inspections throughout his career. He holds active certifications with both ASHI and CREIA, and is dedicated to mentoring new inspectors and franchisees to shape the next generation of inspection professionals across the United States.
