Prayer List

During the days ahead, may

"the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard your hearts and minds."

(Philippians 4:7)

This week we pray for:

Grandchildren of Greg and Linda Barbu
Prayers for Linda and Greg Barbu's grandchildren as they struggle with life's challenges.

Sani Athisü, Hriiyia Kayina, and their children Caitlyn and Jordan
Prayers for Pastor Enikő's former housemates/Richmond family who moved back to India this Sunday. Dr. Athisü will join the faculty of Oriental Theological Seminary in Dimapur in January. Our prayers surround them as they transition into their new home.

Otis Whitmore
Prayers for Otis who is self-isolating after possible exposure to the virus at Meatheads Union two weeks ago.

Barbara Watkins
Prayers of comfort for the family of Leonard Watkins, who passed away on September 21st of this year in Akron, Ohio. Leonard is the husband of Barbara Watkins, daughter of long-standing WPC member Barbara Norris. Barbara and Leonard had attended services many times over the years while visiting Barbara Norris.

Ralph and Ruth, friends Juli Gillespie
Ralph, aged 79, was put in hospice care this week. Prayers for him and his wife Ruth and their 4 adult children during this time.

Prayers for students, teachers and administrators at the College of Wooster as they adjust to the new reality of on-line learning for the remainder of the semester.

Continued prayers for all the schools in our community as they continue to grapple with challenges related to rising numbers of Covid infections.

Prayers of gratitude for the members of the Immigrant Worker Project for all they do to help asylum seekers and immigrant workers in our area during these challenging times. We are thankful for the partnership Westminster shares with IWP.

Prayers for those who struggle with isolation due to the pandemic; who miss the comfort of a hug or hand shake; whose emotional and mental health is affected by the lack of in-person contact.

Prayers for all of those affected by the new waves of Covid-19 infections in this country and across the world. We pray for wisdom and guidance for all decision makers, for health-workers caring for the sick; for essential workers who assure that we can go on with our daily business; those who lost loved ones. May each of us do everything to protect the wellbeing and safety of others.

During this election season, as we are overwhelmed with so much divisive rhetoric, we pray for wisdom and guidance so our faith community could show love and compassion in the face of hatred.

Prayer Request and Privacy Laws

Please note, that because of government privacy laws, hospitals and care centers no longer are allowed to notify churches that a person has been admitted (even if the person lists their home church at admission). The only way that the church staff will know if someone is hospitalized is if a family member or friend lets us know. We'd rather get 20 calls about the same person than none! Thanks for your help in making Westminster a caring community. Contact the Westminster Office by phone 330-263-2398 or email to notify the church if you or someone you know is hospitalized or otherwise in need of our prayers!
