Executive Director Update

CITE is marking an important leadership milestone as we honor Andrea Bennett, CITE’s founding Executive Director, for 20 years of extraordinary service. Andrea has been central to shaping CITE into what it is today—not just growing the organization from a small network into a statewide community of more than 3,000 members, but building a culture grounded in connection, collaboration, and service to others.

Her leadership has always been focused in the right place: supporting our members in their work, elevating the role of IT in education, and ultimately improving outcomes for students and the communities we serve. The professional learning, partnerships, and community you rely on today are a direct result of Andrea’s vision and commitment.

As Andrea steps away from her role as Executive Director, we are proud to begin the next chapter with Laurel Nava stepping into the position. Many of you already know Laurel through her leadership of CITE’s programs and events and her role as Deputy Executive Director. She brings deep experience in education, public policy, and organizational leadership, along with a clear understanding of what matters most to our members.

What will not change is our focus on you. Under Laurel’s leadership, CITE will continue to advocate for your work, expand meaningful professional learning, and support you as you navigate challenges like cybersecurity, student data privacy, infrastructure, and emerging technologies.

Our mission remains the same: to support you, strengthen this community, and ensure you have the resources, partnerships, and voice you need to lead and succeed.
