Capitol Update

Thank you to Representative Witte for hosting the Lakeville Chamber group, and Mayor Hellier, for lunch and discussion about the legislative topics and issues affecting our businesses. We were able to share our feedback on ESST, PMFL, and the effect on legislative mandates on our small business community. In addition to meeting with Rep. Witte, we heard from leaders in the legislature about what they are trying to get accomplished in session on the topics above as well as environmental permitting, taxes, elections, fraud and abuse – to name a few.

State of the City

This year's State of the City address was held this week at the GORGEOUS Brianno's Chart House restaurant. Thank you to George and his staff for such a warm welcome, beautiful view and delicious meal!

A special thank you to our Community Development Director, Tina Goodroad, and Mayor Luke Hellier for sharing so many great updates at the annual State of the City program. We talked about development, employment, parks & rec, transportation, legislative priorities and more.

The State of the City address is part of our priorities in advocacy and access. Mark your calendars for the State of the Schools program on October 22, where we will hear from Superintendent Michael Baumann and ISD194 leadership.

We did it!
