From the Principal

Good Afternoon,

The Catholic Family Challenge this month was to truly make Sunday a day of rest and rejuvenation for your family. Aside from the obligation for attending Mass, we are called to keep Holy the Sabbath day. Aside from avoiding unnecessary work, we are invited to spend time as a family in "holy leisure." Make an effort this Sunday to spend time as a family.  This could be family dinner, family game time, or time to look through old photos with the family. Tell your kids about your favorite TV show or commercial from growing up. Tell them a story about you and your best friend from school or your favorite vacation.  Make sure you give focused attention to these conversations. These stories and time spent together will help your kids know you better and feel connected to one another.

God Bless,

Mrs. Meece

Important 100 Mile Club Announcements

1) This weather has us all excited and ready to get outside and moving! We are opening up miles outside of school club to log some extra miles. From now until the end of March, and miles walked or ran outside of school can be added towards your mileage! You can use the attached tracking sheet and turn in to Mrs. Verhiley after March, or simple email Mrs. Verhiley your total miles. This is a great way to possibly get the whole family moving as we enter Spring.

2) We will resume Wednesday after school club when we return from Spring Break (weather permitting). Club is after school until 4:00. We will resume our original schedule of Tuesday morning club and Wednesday after school. We will only meet Thursday mornings if Wednesday club is cancelled.

Catholic Family Challenge

Check out the April Catholic Family Challenge where we learn about resting on Sunday. What does that look like for your family? In today's busy world, setting aside a day of rest might seem nearly impossible. If God gave us that command, it must be important, and it is sure to be good for us!

Mentor Families Needed

We’re excited to invite current families to become mentors for our incoming St. Jude families! This is a fun opportunity with minimal time commitment, but a huge impact. Each year, we strive to connect new students/families with a mentor who shares their grade and gender, helping them feel more at home.

If you’d like to be part of this amazing program, please fill out the FORM to join our list of mentor families. Your support will make a world of difference in ensuring a smooth and welcoming transition for our future St. Jude students!

Field Trips

The teachers at St. Jude School strive to provide experiences which show that learning and growth are continuing parts of life. Field trips

expose students to parts of our world that cannot be brought into the classroom.

There may be a small fee for each field trip to cover the cost of bus use and trip expense. The PTO also provides money for field trips.

A permission form listing all the pertinent information will be sent home in advance by the teacher. Students must return the signed

permission form in order to participate in the field trip. Verbal permission will not be accepted.

No student will be allowed to leave the school without the written permission form.

Last Call! Roncalli Parent Shadow Day

As a future Royal parent, have you ever wondered what a typical day at Roncalli is like? Now is your chance to get a glimpse of what it's like to be a Roncalli Royal! Join us for a Parent Shadow Day on Wednesday, April 9 from 7:30-11 AM. This is open to parents of any future Royals...not just 8th grade parents. We will start our official day with a light breakfast and talks in our Student Life Center, where you will hear from Kevin Banich (Principal), Katie Hibner (Director of Campus Ministry), Michael Wantz (Assistant Principal for Student Life) and current Roncalli students. From there, you will get the opportunity to see some of our teachers in action. If you would like to join us on April 9, please email Allie Ross at aross@roncalli.org by Friday, April 4.
