Preserving the Birthplace of the American Revolution

Get Ready for Winter at Minute Man

As winter settles in and we reflect on a season filled with successful and inspiring programs, our attention is already turning to 2026. Park staff are hard at work behind the scenes, preparing for a landmark year as we commemorate the 250th anniversary of our nation’s birth.

We look forward to welcoming you back to our visitor centers in the spring. Until then, the park grounds remain open year-round from dawn to dusk - perfect for a peaceful walk through 1,000 acres of landscape and over 5 miles of scenic trails.

Whether you prefer walking, tracking animal footprints, or simply enjoying the quiet beauty of the season, there’s something for everyone to experience at the Park this winter. Click here to plan your visit.

The Hive: Jan 24 - 25, 2026

Save the date for The Hive: A Symposium for Living History Interpreters on Jan 24 - 25, 2026! This two-day symposium is geared toward reenactors and living history interpreters for the early period of the American Revolution. Get ready for the 250th Anniversary of our nation's birth with demonstrations, presentations, and hands-on breakout sessions.

Registration will begin in January 2026.

Fall Garden Cleanup and Winter Volunteering

Volunteers and staff were happy to get back together in the gardens again after the government shutdown ended. It turned into a sunny and warm morning as we put the gardens to bed, covering the ground with pine needles to help insulate the plants through the winter. Crisp sunny fall days are some of the best to work in the Buttrick Gardens!

Looking for a way to stay active this winter? Join our landscape volunteers on Wednesday mornings! This dedicated group meets throughout the winter, weather permitting. Come for a single session or join us every week - everyone is welcome. For more information, contact Rachel Vincent, NPS Biologist, at rachel_vincent@nps.gov.
