Teen Crafting Club is THIS SATURDAY!
|
Our Teen Crafting Club is back this weekend for another fun activity! This Saturday, July 16 at 10:30 a.m. ET, we will be making beaded pipe butterflies, which will make great decorations, can converted into a pin or broach, and will show your artistic abilities with cool colors and patterns. Supplies are provided, and face masks are recommended.
This is a great opportunity for teen girls to show their interest in arts and crafts, and to connect with other girls with autism who have similar interests! Every month, we meet on the third Saturday at COhatch Milford, located on 220 Mill Street, Milford, OH 45150 in the Radial Room. You can register for our in-person crafting club via the linked button below, which will direct you to a registration page. If you have questions or suggestions for future crafts, make sure to reach out to our Program Director Hadia Khan via email or phone at 513-561-2300 x5.
We look forward to seeing you there!

In a Different Key Movie Screening
|
The Regional Autism Advisory Council (RACC) is partnering with ASGC and the Ken Anderson Alliance to present an exclusive preview screening of the movie In a Different Key (2020). Based on a book, this movie shows a true story of love, autism, and the fight to belong.
This movie, according to IMDB, features a mother who tracks down the first person ever diagnosed with autism to a rural Mississippi town to learn whether his life story holds promise for her own autistic son. Her journey exposes a startling record of cruelty and kindness alike-framed by forces like race, money, and privilege. She ultimately finds hope for a future with greater acceptance for those who are considered different.
This movie will be shown at Mariemont Theatre on Monday, August 1 at 10 a.m. In-person tickets are $15, and include the movie, a small drink, and popcorn. There is also an option to view this movie virtually between 4-10 p.m. ET on August 1 for $10. On Tuesday, August 2 at 10 a.m. ET, there will be a virtual panel featuring featuring filmmakers, John Donvan and Caren Zucker; autistic advocate featured in the film, Amy Gravino; and local father of a son with autism, Officer Deon Mack. Both the in-person and virtual tickets to the movie screening include admission to the virtual panel.
Find out more about this event and sign-up at the link below, which will direct you to the Eventbrite page. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to RAAC’s Anne Tapia via email, or you can reach out to the ASGC email helpline or phone helpline at 513-561-2300.
