The days are getting longer, the temperatures warmer and the flowers and trees add color to our everyday lives.
It is April and Bookcliff Vineyards is back at the Boulder and Longmont Farmer's markets every Saturday - the best outdoor shopping around.
Check out the menu for our Mother's Day dinner below. We offer in-person dining at the winery with seating limited to 20 guests; each party ordering together will be seated at their own table. The same dinner is also available for take-out/pickup.
A chocolate and wine pairing class is in the works for June; we will keep you posted.
Enjoy the beautiful Colorado weather on your patio with a glass of Colorado wine.
Cheers,
Ulla & John

Farmer's Market - A Great Start to the Season
|
We had a wonderful start to the Farmer’s Market season last Saturday. The thermometer climbed to 78-degree Fahrenheit and it was sunny. I started the day at the market with my down jacket, a fleece sweater, a long-sleeved shirt and a T-shirt; the T-shirt was all that was needed at the end of the market day. The weather could have not been more welcoming. I have not forgotten the first April market in 2018 when we needed a hat and gloves, a scarf and two pairs of socks with boots to make it through the day at the market.

Last year we had to wait until June for the outdoor market to open and before customers could enjoy local produce, meat, eggs, cut flowers and of course wine. Last Saturday shortly after 8:00am before I was completely set up (who thinks of wine at 8:00am in the morning?) an excited customer stepped up to the booth glad to see that Bookcliff is back at the market; this year you cannot assume that every business you frequented is still in business

The standard opening date for the Boulder and Longmont markets is the first Saturday in April. The weekly “show” goes on rain or shine through the Saturday before Thanksgiving – this is the longest market season of any Farmer’s Market in Colorado. Head to the Fairgrounds in Longmont or 13th Street between Canyon and Arapahoe in Boulder to shop at the market. You cannot miss the sea of tents and the colorful display of the different products. So far, the market operations are the same as when we closed for the season last year – masks required, metered walk-in with or without reservations, social distancing and no samples. But the products are top quality and many are unique and cannot be found anywhere else.

Bookcliff currently offers a selection of nine wines based on the most popular wines from last year’s season. As we are not a big corporation, if you want a particular wine, we are glad to bring it to the market for you. We also offer our popular three-pack carrying case that comes with a $1.00 discount for each bottle; you choose the wines to include in the three-pack. Club members receive their customary discounts at the markets as well. We decided to continue offering the five-wine samplers as supplies last. New this season is our Moscato, an aromatic, sweet white wine replacing our Touch of Red.

Who will you meet at the market? Quite a few people asked me about Allie, who has worked for us at the Longmont market since 2019. They were relieved to hear that she will be back starting with the 4/10/21 market. Arienne, who also works at the tasting room in Boulder, will represent Bookcliff Vineyards at the Boulder market.
Come to the market and be dazzled by the large selection of local products and get to know more about the businesses that produce them.
