This weekend our School's Parents' Association is hosting a fundraiser for the School of St. Mary. Titled "Hats Off...," it is sure to be a joyous evening for parishioners and friends who attend. Thanks to all supporters and benefactors of the School of St. Mary.
As you leave church today, please stop by the entrances of the church to see offerings for your prayerful celebration of the season of Lent. The Lenten key fob includes the Prayer of Contrition. Many people have a version of this beautiful prayer used as part of their prayer life
and the celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation, where we ask for God to help us be the people of faith we know we can be, with the grace of God.
Are you familiar with an act of contrition? Do you recite it by heart? Do you pray it regularly in your prayer life? If you have children, have you taught them this beautiful prayer and encourage them to also pray it regularly?
"My God, I am sorry for my sins, with all my heart. In choosing to do wrong and failing
to do good, I have sinned against you whom I should love above all things. I firmly intend,
with your help, to avoid whatever leads me to sin. Our Savior Jesus Christ suffered and died
for us. In His name, my God, have mercy. Amen."
As we prayerfully enter into the season of Lent, making ready the way for Christ's Passion, Death, and Resurrection, the Church of St. Mary is offering an opportunity to daily ENGAGE in prayer, in the Lenten season. You will receive a daily t ext message or email, with a brief reflection for the Lenten season. It is offered through Bishop Barron's
W
ord on Fire
. Signing up is very easy, just
send a text to 84576 with the message PALMS.
You will receive a confirmation text back explaining how to complete the sign up for Flocknote, which will deliver the Lenten message to you these 40 days. May this program help parishioners of all ages to engage in the Lenten season with reverence, prayer, and love for our Lord, as we await His joyful Resurrection on Easter Sunday.
Next Sunday, March 17, we will welcome Bishop Alberto Rojas to our parish to celebrate the 10:00am Mass. You are welcome to come to the 10:00am Mass next Sunday as well as to a reception being planned in the School cafeteria following the Sunday Mass.

KAIROS #35 is taking place this weekend - a retreat for juniors and seniors in high school. Thank you to Terese Halm, our Youth Minister and our young adult team supporting, working and sharing God's love with our student leaders and teens experiencing the KAIROS retreat. May this experience of God's love deepen within our teens a lived faith to be lived and shared with their families and their peers.
God bless you with a prayerful heart!!!
