Registration for the 2025 Florida Asphalt Scholarship Program Sporting Clays event on October 4 in Lithia, Florida, is now open! All proceeds go to the Florida Asphalt Scholarship Fund, which is distributed to incoming college and trade school students who have a connection to Florida's Asphalt Industry.

TRIP Releases New Report on

Traffic Safety Crisis

TRIP has released a new report titled Addressing America’s Traffic Safety Crisis: Examining the Causes of Increasing U.S. Traffic Fatalities and Identifying Solutions to Improve Traffic Safety. This timely report analyzes traffic fatality trends from 2014 to 2024 at both national and state levels, identifies contributing factors to the rise in fatalities, and outlines a comprehensive strategy for improving traffic safety across the country. Will Maturing Asphalt Change the Racing at Iowa Speedway?


The new pavement at Iowa Speedway has aged for only a year. Strips of new asphalt in the corners provided more grip in last year’s race ... but with a year of weathering, [Ryan] Blaney expects the advantage of the “grip strips” to have dissipated to some degree.

Reason Foundation: Florida in Top 20 for Interstate Safety, Spending in the U.S.


Florida’s urban and rural highway systems are fairly decent compared to the rest of the county, but according to a new study, their conditions have improved slightly in the past year.


The Sunshine State’s interstate roadways are not quite at the top, but they’re in the top 20, according to the Reason Foundation’s “Annual Highway Report.” The analysis found that Florida was 14th in terms of safe interstate conditions. However, the study found a six-spot decline for Florida, ranked eighth in the previous report.
