The April Masterpiece Continues
Dear FAEA Family,
As we trade the March marathons of Youth Arts Month for Florida’s spring arts season, it’s the perfect time to reflect on a spectacular month of advocacy and get ready for the final stretch of the 2026 school year.
March was a whirlwind of advocacy and creativity, and we are still buzzing from the energy! It has been truly inspiring to see the Youth Art Month celebrations shared by our members across the state. From the energy of school fine arts nights to proclamations of local school boards recognizing the arts, you have proven that "The World Needs Art." While the official month has concluded, the impact of your advocacy will continue long after your displays come down.
We are thrilled to announce the winners of the 2026 FAEA Florida Student Art Assessment coming very soon! This program highlights the incredible growth of our students and the high standard of excellence found in the arts rooms across the state. Congratulations to the students and the dedicated art educators who guide them through the artistic process each year. Be sure to visit our (award-winning!) website to view the virtual gallery of this year's winning works very soon.
Do you have a lesson or a creative idea that made you think, "Wow, that was great!"? Don't keep that magic to yourself! We are looking for innovative voices for the 2026 FAEA Annual Conference in St. Petersburg, FL. Submit your conference proposal now. Better yet, find a presenter buddy and invite a friend to submit a proposal as well! The deadline is May 1, 2026.
As we navigate these final busy weeks, know that we are always in your corner. Turn on some Pharrell’s "Happy," sing along, and let’s finish this year with the same passion and artistry you bring to your studios and classrooms each day.
Warmly,
Christy Garton
President, Florida Art Education Association
P.S. Together we are STRONGER!
