Dear Glenn,

Trump has ascended to the presidency again, likely signaling a shift towards increasing autocracy and attempted actions toward Project 2025’s execution. And the wars rage on in Gaza, Ukraine, and Sudan, while the planet continues to burn. WILPF US has a vital role.

As peace women, we must care for one another, strengthen our organizing, and expand our capacity.

In these challenging times, our members are a feminist, grassroots network of progressive women tackling critical issues. To more powerfully support this mission, we’re taking bold steps:

  • New Field Organizer Position: We’ve already hired Shelby Young, an experienced organizer, to aid branch-level recruitment and outreach.
  • The Lloyd Family Legacy Campaign: Thanks to our platinum donor, Robin Lloyd, this campaign will fund a new and experienced executive director and a national visibility campaign to enhance WILPF’s profile and impact.

Water On The Frontlines For Peace 2024 Triennial Congress – May 29-June 2: Nearly 200 members explored the connections between water, conflict, and solutions for water protection. Recorded sessions are on our YouTube channel.

Juneteenth Webinar: Kim Poole (DMV Branch) organized a webinar on reparatory justice with national and international speakers, fostering stronger ties with WILPF International. Watch the recording here.

International Peace Day: WILPF US sponsored events addressing Gaza’s situation, an Equinox renewal event featuring Starhawk, and Home is a Woman: an event in response to the UN’s Summit for the Future focusing on women-centered economies and safe housing.

We thank you for your continued support as we celebrate 110 years and envision our collective future in these unprecedented times.
