Welcome

October is upon us and Bouchercon 2026 is shaping up to be an amazing event! After four years of planning, our Local Organizing Committee is excited to welcome you to our beautiful city. The program looks amazing, the venue is prepped and ready, and in three weeks, 1,500 mystery lovers will gather to share, learn, and connect.

We can’t wait to welcome you this fall and show you all we have to offer.

New Event App

We’re using a new app this year! If you want access to the schedule and all the convention updates in one easy location, create an account with Sched today and get familiar with its capabilities before you arrive. You can download the app for convenience, or you can view the schedule in your web browser or on your phone.

Only registered attendees can create their own event schedule by picking which panels and interviews they want to go to. If you’re attending Bouchercon 2026, you should have received an email that guides you through creating an account. If you have one already, you’re all set.

You can create your account or log in on our Sched event page here. Just click Log in!

Book Bazaar

Authors, if you or your publisher would like to make your books available to mystery readers from around the world, there’s still time. Contact conmanager@bouchercon.com to donate copies to the Book Bazaar. Donated books must arrive by October 9, 2026, so please arrange to ship them soon.

Still hesitant to commit? Check out what this past volunteer said about their experience.

“Last year was my first Bouchercon, and I signed up to volunteer so I could be part of what was going on. Volunteering to help set up the silent auction gave me a chance to look over the items that were being offered before the convention started. Volunteering to be a panel timekeeper gave me a front row seat at a panel I was going to attend anyway. Most of all, volunteering gave me the chance to meet, and talk with, some of the people who have been part of Bouchercon for many years.”

-Eileen,

volunteer at Bouchercon 2025, Nashville and

Bouchercon 2026, Calgary

Media Room

Make sure to check out the Media Room in Glen 205, sponsored by the Crime Writers of Canada. They will host events Thursday-Saturday including New Author Spotlight interviews, live tapings of the Crime Writers of Canada podcast, and some fun and interactive games with a rotating panel of authors.

Call for Silent Auction Donations

We will be holding a silent auction to help raise funds for our 2026 charity, the Further Education Society of Alberta. Donations are so important for a successful auction and are a great way to advertise you and your work. Please consider donating to help ensure this year’s auction is a success.

We are grateful for any contribution, but many attendees are traveling, so bulky items may be an issue. Consider donating a service, naming rights to a character, a virtual book club visit, a manuscript critique, etc. Due to border crossing issues, it is probably best to avoid alcohol, fresh fruit, or veggie items.

More information can be found here.
