Revisiting the Catholic Mass
Understanding the
Eucharistic Prayer
| |
The General Instruction of the Roman Missal (GIRM) calls the Eucharistic Prayer "the center and summit of the entire celebration." In this sacred prayer, the Church gives thanks to God, recalls Christ's saving Death and Resurrection, invokes the Holy Spirit upon the gifts of bread and wine, and offers Christ's sacrifice to the Father. The Eucharistic Prayer concludes with the Great Amen, the congregation's joyful affirmation of all that has been prayed and celebrated.
The Roman Missal provides a number of approved Eucharistic Prayers from which the celebrant may choose. While Eucharistic Prayers I-IV are used most frequently, additional prayers are available for reconciliation, special needs, and particular pastoral circumstances. Each expresses the same Eucharistic faith of the Church while highlighting different aspects of God's saving work.

Children's Choir
Children's Choir will sing will lead music at the 11:am Mass on the first Sunday of each month through December along-side the Adult Choir. If we have enough members, they will then sing on their own through April. The Children's Choir will also lead music on Christmas Eve at the 4:30pm as they so wonderfully did last year.
The Children's Choir will be open to Grades 4 - 8. Music and recordings will be sent home via email for the children to learn. A rehearsal will then take place at 10:30am, prior to Mass on the first Sunday of the month.
Several additional rehearsals for Christmas Eve, mutually agreed upon by parents, guardians and Bob Soeder, will be scheduled as well.
For further information, contact Bob Soeder at bsoeder@smmwillowick.org

New Online Giving System
Over the next few weeks, we will be transitioning our parish Online Giving Software to a new system. The software we have been using over the years will soon be obsolete and no longer supported by ACS. To that end, we will soon be converting to a new, better, and even more secure system than we have right now.
As in any transition, “bumps in the road” can always be expected. While we go through this changeover, we’re asking for your help! At the normal time of your usual deduction choice, please check your account to be sure your deduction is timely and accurate. If there are ANY discrepancies, please immediately contact Rosemarie in our Parish Office so that a prompt correction can be made.
THANK YOU for your continuous and generous support and understanding!
