During the Professional Development Week, Winston staff participated in collaborative learning and planning to strengthen our skills and deepen our commitment to serving students with learning differences. Faculty and staff engaged in sessions designed to enhance teaching strategies, strengthen inclusive practices, and build a deeper understanding of the ways to address the diverse needs of our students. We were excited to learn, plan,

and practice many of the new year’s initiatives. We finished the week uplifted

and enthusiastic for the new school year, and can’t wait to see you on Monday!

The Winston School kicked off the new school year with our Middle and High School Meet & Greets, bringing students, families, and staff together to reconnect and welcome new faces to our community. The event was filled with smiles, lively conversations, and the excitement of new beginnings. Students explored classrooms, met their teachers, and caught up with friends, while parents had the chance to connect with faculty and learn more about the year ahead.

Our amazing counseling intern team, supervised by Dr. Schere, is committed to supporting student mental health. These highly trained interns value The Winston School as an exceptional place to gain hands-on experience, connect authentically with students, and learn under expert supervision. They’re ready and excited to connect and support the students for the new semester.

Winston staff enjoyed a variety of adventures this summer!

  • Ms. Deza spent relaxing days at the beach.
  • Mrs. Garrison traveled to Park Rapids, Minnesota, for a wonderful family trip—filled with lake fun and cousins playing together.
  • Ms. Deidra explored the beauty of nature in Canada and Montana.
  • Ms. Carol visited the Del Mar Fair and admired the students’ artwork.
  • Ms. Libby earned her Master’s Degree in Expressive Arts Therapy and got engaged!
  • Ms. Kristen, Mrs. Garrison, Ms. Rachel, and Ms. Arelis attended the Landmark College Conference in Vermont.
  • Mrs. Vits enjoyed time with her new baby.
