Los Angeles Community Action Network

Over 3 months ago, LA CAN's Human & Civil Committee submitted a letter to @cd14losangeles demanding that while we continue to push for an end to sweeps altogether, people living in Skid Row should get, at the very least, the same notice before a sweep that every other neighborhood gets. Since the 1980s, federal housing and welfare policy has transitioned away from long-term investments that help people stay housed and toward short-term crisis responses that manage homelessness after it occurs.
