Fun In The Sun (And Rain) This Spring

While we do tend to get plenty of April showers here in NE OH, we know that they lead to sunny days. Get out and camp out with your scouts this Spring with Family Adventure Camps, Good Turn Weekends, and Spring Camporees!

Family Adventure Camp returns this May with a STEM based adventure for Cub Scouts! This overnight camping experience is designed to give Cub Scouts and their families an exciting adventure while earning the Fearful Symmetry NOVA Award!

Good Turn Weekends continue in April and May and offer an excellent opportunity for Troops to complete a service project at camp. There are also Spring Camporees taking place around the council where scouts can learn new skills. See the District News Sections at the bottom of the page to learn more.

Celebrate the Eagle Class of 2022

126 youth including 8 females achieved the rank of Eagle Scout during 2022 in the Buckeye Council! Achieving the highest rank in Scouting is a tremendous accomplishment representing the culmination of years of effort and leadership. On March 15, 2023 we debuted the Eagle Celebration to recognize this exemplary group at CelebrateScouting.org as an on-demand, digitally delivered experience. In addition to the 25-30 minute Celebration event, the site also features individual recognitions of every Eagle Scout in an interactive format. Take a moment to view and share the Eagle Celebration!

Free Family Fun Events

We invite you to come sit around the campfire with us, share your story, and learn about what Scouting is doing to for youth and families in our council. Celebrations will take place with every unit, at free family fun events, with Scouting leaders, and with community organizations who support Scouting. Spend Your Summer at Seven Ranges

The summer camp program at Seven Ranges Scout Reservation delivers the adventure, fun, and activities that are promised to every youth that joins Scouting. Scouts can extend their summer at Seven Ranges in a number of ways:

Second Week of Camp: Attend a second week of camp for half-price! Come back to earn additional merit badges and attend with our provisional troop. Learn More in the Leader Guide

SPL2B Program: The SPL2B program is a chance for a Senior Patrol Leader to come to camp FOR FREE a week or two before their troop and work on advancement and camp honor requirements. By coming to camp early and staying with a host troop, a SPL will be able to give their own troop the attention they will demand when they are in camp.

Serve on Summer Camp Staff: Extend your stay at camp for the entire summer! We are still looking for camp staff for both Cub Scout Summer Camp and Scout Summer Camp (especially a Quartermaster!). Learn more by filling out a camp staff application.

Level Up Your Leadership Skills

Both youth and adults can level up their leadership skills this summer at NYLT or Wood Badge!

NYLT (National Youth Leadership Training) is a six-day program for Scouts BSA and Venturing youth that provides leadership skills and experience you can use in your home troop and other situations demanding leadership of yourself and others. Registration is now open for the 2023 course that will be held at Seven Ranges Scout Reservation, July 30-August 4. We are also looking for NYLT Staff! If you've attended NYLT in the past, you're invited to serve on staff for this year. Contact us if interested.

Wood Badge is a two-weekend advanced leadership course for adults! Gain a deeper understanding of scouting, apply skills throughout your Scouting career, network with new people, build skills to use in your unit, work, family life and community and have fun! Register now for Wood Badge 2023, taking place at Seven Ranges Scout Reservation, August 11-13 and September 16-17.

Scout Executive Minute

Get out and camp out! Camping is the best part of the Scouting experience and where lifelong memories are made. Whether the next several weeks hold more sun than rain, coming to camp will make them more fun.

Join us this month at one of our Program Kickoffs to learn more about these activities and what lies ahead throughout 2024. These events are designed to help equip with the information and resources to plan and prepare and get the most out of your Scouting experience.
