Recent Immunization Calculation Engine (ICE) Updates Supporting Current Vaccine Guidance

The open-source Immunization Calculation Engine (ICE) is updated regularly to keep immunization clinical decision support current and reliable across IIS and EHR systems.

ICE v2.58.1 brings clinical logic updates for DTP, meningococcal B, pneumococcal, and zoster, along with new configuration options for hepatitis B and polio. The release also adds optional schedule authority attribution, such as “AAP,” in forecasts.

ICE v2.59.1 adds support for the American Academy of Pediatrics’ and American Academy of Family Physicians’ routine 2026–2027 COVID-19 recommendations, along with a new mRNA influenza vaccine. Together with existing influenza and RSV functionality, these updates support the medical societies’ respiratory season recommendations.

ICE v2.60.1 includes updated vaccine logic for COVID-19, meningococcal B, pneumococcal, and yellow fever, along with a core service upgrade.

Explore the updates in each release and test the latest vaccine logic using the free CDS Insight demonstration and testing tool.
