Door County Folk Festival

Get Your Foot in the Door!

Dear Paul Collins,

We're planning a really great return to in-person dancing at the 2023 Door County Folk Festival and we request your feedback on a few things.

Please complete and submit our brief, anonymous 4-Question Survey by 10:00am, Wednesday, April 12, 2023.

Survey Link at the bottom of this email.

But first ... please take a look at some advance information (below) about this year's Festival.

Festival Costs:

  • A weekend pass (all events) is a great value at approximately $260 - (25% discount)
  • Daily passes are approximately $80 (Fri), $110 (Sat), and $95 (Sun) - (20% discount)
  • Passes may be purchased in advance and at the door
  • Individual event tickets (non-discounted) will also be available at the door
  • Pre-registration deposits will be required to secure weekend and daily passes - Kress Pavilion has a 150 person capacity - details later
  • Walk-in participation available as capacity permits

Lodging Costs:

  • New this year - participants should book their own lodging in advance
  • Door County is a popular tourist area where daily rates can vary greatly ($90/night to $210/night), with lower rates in Sturgeon Bay and higher rates as you travel North
  • Choose your ideal lodging based on amenities, cost and closeness to Egg Harbor
  • DCFF lodging partners (Coachite Inn & Ridges Inn) offer a DCFF participant discount
  • We're working to recruit new lodging partners in Egg Harbor and Fish Creek
  • We’ll provide lodging/camping info & options on the registration form and website
  • For your convenience, we'll also provide a list of nearby restaurants, grocery stores and many other desirable Door County hangouts

Festival Activities:

Evening Dance Parties featuring:

  • Live music of Izvor Orchestra (Milwaukee), Shirley Johnson (Austin) [Accordion, Prim], Clara Byom (Albuquerque) [Accordion, Clarinet]
  • Recorded music selections by staff leaders/instructors
  • All request Sunday night party (by Melissa Boutell) with some live music
  • BYO (a Bring Your Own to share) something at every party!
