As Hurricane Milton approaches, our thoughts are with our members and communities in the storm's path. We encourage everyone to stay informed, prepare, and protect what matters most. Please note that public lands and recreation sites throughout the storm’s path will be closed, including many sections of the Florida Trail. For your safety and the safety of others, we kindly ask that you respect these closures.

While we brace for Hurricane Milton, recovery efforts are already underway to address the extensive trail damage caused by Hurricane Helene.
The Florida National Scenic Trail (FT) has suffered significant damage, and the Florida Trail Association, in collaboration with the USDA Forest Service and our partners, is working diligently to assess the destruction and begin recovery efforts. Teams are already on the ground in the hardest-hit areas.
We are still in need of volunteers to assist with clean-up efforts, particularly for the Hurricane Helene clean-up project along the Suwannee River and the Next Generation Coalition project in the Ocala National Forest. If you are able, register to volunteer at floridatrail.galaxydigital.com/need
Stay safe and thank you for your continued support of the Florida Trail community.
