Greetings!

¡Feliz año nuevo! As we head into 2022, the word that comes to mind for us at CIELO is "grateful" - grateful for our amazing community that continues to be so generous, even when faced with another year of uncertainty. In December, we sent out our End of Year Appeal, and together we raised $9,157.50 in support of CIELO's many programs and services! So, thank you- not just for the donations, but for being a part of our CIELO familia and spreading your passion for our shared mission.

We are also excited to share with you that last month we closed out the year with a pilot food bank in Shelton that served over 100 low-income families. This pilot came about thanks to the honesty and trust that our community members placed on our team as they shared their daily struggles around food security with us. We knew that the feat of offering a food bank event of this magnitude could only come about with the help of community partners. Hence, CIELO did what we know best- we "built a bridge" and invited local organizations to participate in the solution.

Thanks to the support of Coastal Harvest, we were able to attain 100 culturally relevant food boxes.

Thanks to Faith Lutheran Church, we had a safe location for our families.

Thanks to the HOPE Garden Project and Turning Pointe we had other local organizations that could support our Mason County families from a different perspective.

Finally, we executed this event seamlessly, thanks to 24 volunteers who stepped up to offer event support.

What else could we possibly say other than we are so incredibly grateful for the many individuals in our communities who continue to step up and rally behind our cause! As we all bravely step forward into 2022, ask yourself what you are thankful for and take a moment to smile. We know that you make our CIELO familia smile every day.

¡Viva CIELO!
