21st Street North, Arkansas to Waco: This project will perform street repairs in preparation for an asphalt overlay on 21st Street. Traffic Impact: Starting Tuesday, July 12th, 21st Street will be one lane westbound traffic only between Arkansas and Waco. East bound traffic will be detoured to 29th Street North utilizing Arkansas and Broadway.

Estimated completion: Summer 2022
McLean, Central to 13th Street North: This project will perform asphalt repairs and place an asphalt overlay on McLean, including revised pavement markings to convert McLean to a 3 lane roadway. A new signalized crosswalk will be installed between 9th and 10th Street North. Traffic Impact: Mclean is reduced to one lane in each direction.

Estimated completion: Fall 2022
Mosley, 13th to 17th Street North: This project will reconstruct Mosley, between 13th and 17th Street North. Traffic Impact: Mosley is one lane southbound traffic only. Northbound traffic is being detoured to Broadway utilizing 13th Street and 21st Street North.

Troy Anderson Named Assistant City Manager

The City of Wichita announced Troy Anderson, AICP, as the new Assistant City Manager for Development Services in the City of Wichita.

As Assistant City Manager, Anderson will guide the City’s efforts for continued smart growth, economic development, and prosperity for residents, represents the City in commercial development endeavors, and coordinate and oversee city planning, housing, building and construction services, and utilities and engineering. He is expected to join the City on August 22.

Happening in District 6
UPDATE: District 6 Coffee will be held on Saturday, July 23, at 9:00 am at Evergreen Park. Let’s give back to the community and join me and area churches, businesses, and nonprofits, as we volunteer in Convoy of Hope Wichita. During the event, we’ll hand out backpacks, groceries, and packets with resources. Volunteer parking is available on the west side of the Evergreen Recreation Center and at the Grace Med Parking lot. We'll meet at station 8, rain or shine, don't forget to wear comfortable clothing, and shoes.
Back to school is around the corner, and so is Convoy of Hope Wichita.

Free pet vaccine & microchip walk-up clinic with no registration will be needed.

Services offered: microchip, the canine DHPP (distemper parvo) vaccine, and the feline FVRCP (panleukopenia & more) vaccine. All dogs must be on leashes, and all cats must be in carriers. This clinic is brought to you from the City of Wichita, Kansas Humane Society, and WSU Tech.

NOTE: Only 200 pets will be served.
