If spring is a season of renewal, that is no more true than with the Tuskegee Airmen Chicago "DODO" Chapter. And you can find out all about what's new with our chapter at our annual Chapter Planning Meeting on April 1 at Bult Field (see details below).
The Tuskegee Airmen Youth Drone Training Academy
First, we are excited to launch the new Tuskegee Airmen Youth Drone Training Academy. It will launch in April and take place on the second and fourth Saturdays of April, June, July and August.
The Tuskegee Airmen Youth Drone Training Academy allows us to transition from the Young Eagles Program (now offered exclusively through EAA) into a program for the future. From photography to inspections to deliveries and more, drones and drone technology will have a growing place in everyday life. We can help prepare today's youth for these ever-growing careers of the future.
Program Launches with the O. Lawton Wilkerson Drone Training Scholarship!
I'm thrilled to share with you that Ms. Joyce Tucker has established the O. Lawton Wilkerson Drone Training Scholarship with a $2,500 donation. This generous donation will allow us to train youth and to work with them all the way through taking their FAA Part 107 exam to secure a Commercial Drone Pilot License.
Model Airplane Exhibit Opens at Bult Field
We've also recently installed a new model airplane exhibit at Bult Field, with 44 model airplanes donated in honor of the new Tuskegee Airmen Youth Drone Training Academy. You will get a chance to see this new exhibit when you join us at the April 1 meeting.
Please join us on April 1 from 9 am to 4 pm to learn more about all of this, connect with friends, and enjoy a delicious lunch, all at Bult Field.
See you there!
