The American Vacuum Society (AVS) is excited to announce the 2022 AVS International “One-Tweet Challenge” Competition, an online venue for students and professionals to share their research with a global audience. We challenge you to capture the impact of your research in 280 characters and one image. Join us to disseminate your latest findings, connect with your research community, and meet new colleagues!
Registration Deadline:
July 1, 2022
Who Should Attend?
We welcome participation from science and engineering students (undergraduate through postdoctoral scholar), working anywhere in the world, in any technical domain of relevance to the AVS.
How Does This Benefit Me Professionally?
The audience for a well-crafted tweet and accompanying graphics can be significant, potentially exceeding that at traditional conferences by orders-of-magnitude. This event is a great opportunity to hone your online “presentation” skills. As the world continues to leverage online communication tools, this skill will be increasingly crucial.
Why Twitter?
Twitter offers a platform for anyone, anywhere in the world, to engage with their colleagues with little more than a computer or smartphone and internet connection. As opposed to webinars, which are largely one-way learning experiences, Twitter enables back-and-forth communication among presenters, judges, and anyone interested in your findings.
Will There Be Awards?
Yes, awards will include monetary prizes, complimentary AVS memberships, and recognition via: (i) Twitter and LinkedIn as well as (ii) news stories on the AVS web page and in our monthly electronic newsletter Beneath the AVS Surface.
