Few things motivate a Choice One employee quite like free food. Over the years, Skyline coneys, lunch, donuts, cookies, and the occasional mystery crockpot contribution have fueled countless conversations, traditions, and impromptu competitions. It should come as no surprise that breakfast sandwiches have now become the subject of the latest office competition.
Ryan Francis and Isaiah “Slim” Winhoven are currently engaged in an epic battle to determine who can arrive at the office earlier each morning. The price of losing? Buying your competitor a breakfast sandwich. Slim is a legit, medal-earning Ironman competitor and Francis, according to our official records, is a dinosaur. Conventional wisdom suggested endurance training would prevail. Instead, Francis has opened the competition with a commanding 2-0 lead.
Given these results, some may point to Slim's statement as evidence that this contest was over before it began, much like his highly publicized footrace against Nolan Siefring. But perhaps we've been looking at this all wrong. Perhaps Slim has already realized that for less than ten dollars, he can buy two breakfast sandwiches and still enjoy sleeping in a bit later. In that case, Francis may be winning the competition, but Slim could still be coming out ahead.
