Not Moving Quite Yet
by Fr. Casey
If you’ve been paying much attention over the last several months, you know that this weekend was to be our first worshipping in Roper Hall. Renovation work in the church was scheduled to begin next week, so we had intended to relocate the work of worship starting this Saturday and Sunday. Well friends, the start date of the renovations has been pushed back slightly – to early June – so we will enjoy the rest of Eastertide in our beautiful Nave.
In case you don’t know what I’m talking about, we are preparing to perform some major maintenance in our church. The building is 50 years old, and like anything that has existed for half a century, there are some issues that need care and attention. In coming months, we’ll be replacing old ductwork under the church, updating electrical and wiring systems, improving lighting, replacing the pews (which are not able to be refinished), creating a side chapel in the south transept, and installing a ramp to the chancel. Additionally, our sacristy (the area behind the altar) will be renovated from top-to-bottom, and even expanded by nearly 50%, so our Altar Guild and liturgical ministers have the space and storage they need to do their holy work. That long list of projects is actually the reason for the shifted start: we were able to better align all the various contractors who will be a part of the renovations, and it means we can move out a bit later.
Once it begins, the projects will take months to complete, requiring our move to...

Our Easter Outreach Offering
We are pleased to share that the Easter Loose Plate Offering totaled $12,500. This money will be donated entirely to World Central Kitchen for their continued work feeding people impacted by humanitarian and natural disasters around the world. Tragically, seven WCK workers were killed by an Israeli missile strike on their relief convoy in Gaza last week, demonstrating just how dangerous the work of compassion can be. So in addition to our financial contribution, we ask everyone to pray for the people of WCK, who shine resurrection power into places of despair and death.
Our Good Friday loose plate offering of $1,200 will be donated to the Episcopal Church in Jerusalem and the Middle East, providing vital support to our brothers and sisters in the Holy Land.

Mexico Pilgrimage 2025
Join pilgrims from Transfiguration on a journey to the mountains of Mexico in 2025 to witness one of nature’s true wonders: the vast overwintering monarch butterfly colony. Led by Fr. Casey, this pilgrimage is tentatively scheduled for February 19-25 and will feature visits to three different parks in the Monarch Butterfly Biosphere Preserve, engagement with local culture and people, and a visit to the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City. The cost is $1,800 plus airfare. Most of the trip occurs at/above 8,000 ft of elevation, including hikes of several miles, so participants must be in very good health. If you have further questions, please contact Fr. Casey.
