2021 Lupine Festival has been canceled
The lupine are blooming! However, per the lupine Festival Committee: Our community is vulnerable and we have to keep our volunteers, vendors, and area as safe as possible. With vaccines rolling out, we had hoped that perhaps we might be able to celebrate again this year, but we don’t feel even if we reach a point of better safety, we will have the time to organize the event for this year. We hope to be able to put on the Lupine Festival again in 2022. Please stay safe and we hope to see you again in 2022.
Events
Jean's Playhouse, 7:30 pm
Host and comic Greg Boggis has been comedy event producer at Jean’s Playhouse for many years, bringing the best in Boston and regional standup to their stage in Lincoln – and this year is no exception. Headlining comedian Mike Donovan is a veteran of stand-up with a career that began in 1978 and quickly saw him rise in popularity. He has toured 38 cities with Steven Wright and regularly appears in Las Vegas, N.Y., and Atlantic City; as well as appearing on SHOWTIME, and had his sports material featured on ESPN’s Sportscenter. Joining Donovan and Boggis, Rob Steen will appear as the featured comic. A Boston street performer at the tender age of 12, Steen created North Shore Comedy in 1986, when he was 15. With juggling and improv skills under his belt, he decided to give stand-up comedy a shot. At just 21, he was booking more than 20 shows a week and performing, as well.
Tickets are $20, and general seating will be assigned by party, in order to allow for distanced seating. Be aware that the Playhouse is currently at reduced capacity to ensure safe practices, all of which are detailed on their website. You should be able to purchase tickets beginning the week of May 10. (Advance ticketing purchase is the best way to ensure availability as box office hours are limited and unscheduled at this time.)
An outdoor music performance featuring the improvisational genius of Jason Tors and Ben Solomon.  For all ages! Instruments will be provided for children to participate.

The Museum will open Sat, May 29 at 1 pm and will be open Saturdays from 1-4 pm until mid-October. They will follow CDC guidelines, including wearing masks and physical distancing indoors. Should there be large numbers of visitors, they reserve the option to limit the number of visitors indoors at one time. Browse the current exhibit:  A visit to an old-fashioned country store. The exhibit includes pictures and information about stores in Franconia. Volunteers have constructed an old-fashioned country store in their versatile exhibit space in the Jewell Friedman Exhibit Room. Many artifacts are included in the general store: old tools, household items, a post office sorting case, clothing, and ledgers used by the shopkeeper. In the 1800 and early 1900s, there were several stores in Franconia meeting the diverse needs of residents at a time when it took hours to get to Littleton...no last-minute trips to Walmart, Lowes, or Shaws...rather like the life some of us have led for the last year! Permanent displays in the furnished 1878 New England farmhouse and attached buildings include old farm equipment, Old Man of the Mountain, Iron Furnace, Dow Clock, china, and more. Try their scavenger hunts—one for children and one for adults. See if you can find artifacts that our ancestors would have had or used, including some that are mysterious to us!
