Kylie Kelce claims #1 podcast spot, dethroning Joe Rogan

Joe Rogan - the Internet's consistently most popular podcaster - has been dethroned from the top spot by Kylie Kelce after her debut episode. Kelce is a mother of three (with a fourth on the way) and is married to former Philadelphia Eagles footpall player Jason Kelce, whose brother Travis famously dates Taylor Swift.

Article excerpt: "Kylie Kelce's podcast is already taking the top spot.

Following the release of the first episode on Dec. 5, the 32-year-old's new podcast Not Gonna Lie has hit No. 1 on Spotify and Apple's podcast charts, PEOPLE confirms. She dethroned Joe Rogan, bumping The Joe Rogan Experience down to the second spot.

In the first episode, Kelce opened up about her family with her husband Jason Kelce, and how she's embraced newfound attention on her life, despite preferring to live out of the spotlight.

The mom-of-three - who recently announced that she's pregnant with her fourth child - shared that while she prefers to stay 'behind the scenes,' she has found a way to 'turn (the attention) into a positive' and use the opportunity to 'control the narrative' about herself.

According to the article, Kelce's podcast will cover "gossip, parenting, social media and women's representation in sports, among other topics."

Is her time at the top short-lived or will she have staying power? Rogan has been #1 for a long time - and with "bro culture" only growing, he probably won't be going away anytime soon.

Mocha Mousse named Pantone's Colour of the Year for 2025

It's that time of the year again when Pantone tells everyone what colour they should be painting their walls in the new year. In 2025, it will be Mocha Mousse!

Article excerpt: "Each year, since the turn of the millennium, word arrives from on high: Pantone, the self-described world's authority on color, announces its Color of the Year.

On Thursday, Pantone declared Mocha Mousse as the color for 2025.

The 'evocative soft brown' or 'warming rich brown hue,' the company said in a press release, 'nurtures with its suggestion of the delectable quality of cacao, chocolate and coffee, appealing to our desire for comfort.'

In unveiling a hue meant to reflect the culture through the language of color, Pantone also forecasts what's next in design trends.

The earthy color seizes on 'a growing movement to align ourselves with the natural world,' the release read.

Pantone's Color of the Year is meant to capture the zeitgeist, said Laurie Pressman, vice president of the Pantone Color Institute. At the same time, it's also intended to serve as a cultural antidote.

'It's emblematic of a snapshot in time and it's giving people what they feel they need - that that color can hope to answer,' Pressman said. 'It's us taking the temperature: What's taking place in the world around us and how does that get expressed into the language of color?'"

Well, that's quite a quote about the colour brown, eh? Expect paint stores to be busy in the next year with Mocha Mousse flying out the doors as people keep up with the trends!

April's solar eclipse was the top search topic on Google Canada 2024

Curious about what Canadians searched for on Google in 2024? The search engine giant has released its list of most popular search terms of the year.

Article excerpt: "The solar eclipse was top of mind this year for Canadians, according to a new report from Google showing the things Canadians searched for the most in 2024.

'What time is the solar eclipse?' and 'why can't you look at a solar eclipse?' were two of the top trending searches Canadians wanted to know the answer to.

(In case you didn't Google the latter: it's always dangerous to look at the sun with the naked eye. Space agencies and ophthalmologists agree that looking at a partial solar eclipse without approved eye protection can cause lasting eye damage.)

U.S. politics, the Euro Cup, various natural disasters, strikes and celebrities also made the list."

Other top searches included:

• Strikes at Ontario liquor stores, Air Canada and Canada Post

• Fire in Jasper, Alberta

• Kate Middleton's cancer diagnosis

• Baby Reindeer Netflix series

Moncton's Project Linus Chapter celebrates 15th anniversary

Founded 15 years ago by retired Moncton educator Janet Longaphie, who passed away in 2018, the Moncton Chapter of Project Linus continues its compassionate mission to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children of all ages who are seriously ill, traumatized, experiencing various difficulties or otherwise need a comforting hug. Each child receives this warm hug though the gift of a new, homemade, washable blanket lovingly crafted by volunteers named “blanketeers”.

Project Linus was named for the beloved comic book character Linus from the Peanuts comic strip. Linus was never without his trusty security blanket, which provided him with constant comfort. Peanuts creator Charles Schulz was aware of the project and was delighted to have Linus-inspired blanketeers to help comfort children throughout Canada and the United States.

Always remaining anonymous, these “blanketeers” have donated their homemade blankets to local hospitals, wellness centres for women and children, multicultural agencies, youth organizations, as well as first responders, neonatal units and funeral homes. They are always well received. Throughout the organization’s history, more than 16,000 blankets have provided a gesture of kindness to help brighten a child’s day.

Congratulations to Project Linus - Moncton Chapter on their 15th anniversary!
