FORMS, FORMS, FORMS, REPORTS, REPORTS, REPORTS!!

Yes, it is that time of the year for the Military Order of the Purple Heart Auxiliary members to sharpen those pencils or charge that old computer that you hope will last a few more months and start filling in your forms or reports that are required. Units will fill their forms/reports out to the appropriate officer/chairperson, Departments will do the same, then Region follows and finally National officers/chairpersons receive the information. Then there will be reports made and the reports will be reported to the body at the National Convention.

Why is this so important?? I asked myself this same question, when I was the President of Alamo Unit 1836, and never really understood why these forms were so important until I became a National Officer. These forms and reports show Auxiliary members what has been accomplished by each Unit, Department or Region throughout the United States during the past year, they are the history of what the organization stands for. The forms/reports give other Units, Departments and Regions new ideas of what they can do to help Veterans. Forms can be found on our website: www.purpleheartauxiliary.org   Remember to put in the correct address, phone number and email address on ALL forms that you complete.

Department Conventions are starting to take place, and I cannot attend each Convention, but I will be there with you in “SPIRIT”. A new year will be started with new Officers and new ideas. During your Convention as you conduct and fulfill your obligations and business, embrace each other with consideration, joy, friendship and celebrate your love of each other, the organization and the United States.

MESSAGES FROM OUR AUXILIARY LEADERSHIP

National Sr. Vice and National Secretary

Judy Fiddler

Happy Spring to Everyone…

The time for rebirth has begun.  Trees are budding, flowers appearing from a long winter’s nap and Units submitting their yearly reports.  April is that time when Unit installations should be done.  An Installation report is the first step to a rebate in December.  ALL other reports are due to the National Chair between now and May 15 in order for them to compile a summary of the year’s activity to be placed in the National Convention booklet.  Please get your reports in in a timely manner.

A reminder to the Department and Regions Presidents…please do the inspections of your Units.  If there is a Unit that you cannot do, please let me know, so I can.  I have received 7 of 41 at this time.

The  North Carolina National Convention planning committee has been working hard to make this an exceptional time.  It is July 13 – 16, 2026 in New Bern, North Carolina.  Check the website for more details and how to register.  At the time of filling in the registration form, you will need your membership number, Unit number, Department (if there is one) and the highest title you hold. This information goes on your name badge and for credentials to vote during the convention.

Please consider running for a position at National.  You could have that spark that ignites a whole new way of working or thinking to keep us fresh and moving forward.

Yours in Patriotism.

April showers bring May flowers!

Dave and I went to Fort Wayne, IN to see family. Daffodils were in bloom and shrubs in bloom. They even have green grass that has been mowed 3 times. Then came home to MN with dead grass, naked shrubs and snow showers. While in Ft. Wayne, we went to the Veterans Memorial park. It is absolutely beautiful. They have the original traveling wall of Vietnam that is now premament to the park. All wars are presented here. Shout out to MOPH Department of IN for a nice looking bench. Please do yourself a favor and visit this park. I'm told the flowers are fantastic during the summer.

I know April and May everyone is having their department meetings. This is a fun time to meet up with friends. We are doing a new fund raiser for ways and means. "Best foot forward" This is a way to collect money to help our veterans. I will be sending money as I wear size 12 shoes. This will be fun. Please show the patriots during meetings and get them involved and see this attached flyer for additional information.

Also, order your spices and rubs for grilling and smoking season. These are very popular and taste great. This is on line so check it out. Makes great gifts for fathers day, mothers day, and birthday. This one ends June 15th.

Remember to come up with products for ways and means auction for the National Convention.

Enjoy your meetings and each other. As always stop and smell the flowers and enjoy! We have no flowers yet.

In Sympathy and Memoriam

Almighty God in His Infinite Wisdom called the following members to their Eternal Reward:

(Always sad to share, but never too late to send a card when possible)

Please note: Due to the length of the updated list of our beloved Auxiliary members who have been called to their eternal resting place, this document has been attached for easy review.

Requesting to continue in prayer: those grieving, the homebound/hospitalized/sick and shut-in; the survivors of all incidents of terrorism, violence, devastating environmental and societal effects, and other changes.

Please remember to include our Nation, the United States of America government, religious and political leaders as well as other worldly affairs and changes negatively affecting lives; support for our military, protectors (police, firemen, etc.),volunteers, front line workers, caregivers; medical and educational professionals, field workers in other services giving a helping hand for people (missionaries); the unhomed, needy and hungry; those who are lonely, disenfranchised, demoralized or incarcerated; those unspoken requests with many other needs including concerns for health, family, healing, finances other matters; those prayers known and unknown to only God.

MONTH Birthdays: Happy, Happy Birthday to all of our April Birthday Celebrants! May the good Lord keep on blessing you with many more birthdays to come with abundant favor and the desire of your heart. Share your birthday or anniversary date so we can join in your celebration.

Region 4 is always working, always sharing and 100% dedicated to serving our Patriots! We, as members of the MOPHA, recognize the importance of promoting the positive impacts that we have on our organization, our communities and our service men and women. We believe it is our duty to promote patriotism, be mentors for our younger generations, and create awareness of the sacrifices made by our military.

Region 4 departments and units “show up “ when there is a need, a crisis, or an opportunity to highlight those individuals who have given so much of themselves to protect and serve others. At this time, contacts are made to verify that our members are ok- phone calls and a kind voice brings satisfaction to those sometimes forgotten. It is a personal honor to have spoken with the units and department Presidents of Region 4 whenever possible and be able to generate conversations about family, fun and responsibility. Through these phone calls, we have learned of and participated in stand downs, presented gift cards to female veteran families, and organized a card campaign for Patriots in care facilites. At this time, the Georgia membership is preparing gift baskets for the department convention. Getting to know one another helps tremendously and great things can be accomplished working towards a common goal!

Come on, Region 4 make plans to “zoom” in for our General Orders meeting, Thursday at 8 pm EST!! Keep yourself and others informed, active and ready for the next project! Something is always happening in Region 4!!

Proudly serving with you,

Kay Jo
