Update! Inclusion of LGBTBE® Certified Businesses in City of Houston Directory

Members and Supporters

With the historic announcement and signing of an executive order by Mayor Sylvester Turner earlier this year, the Greater Houston LGBT Chamber of Commerce helped lead the way to make history and ensure that LGBT-owned businesses have equitable access to contracting and procurement opportunities throughout the city.

Since that announcement, there has been a lot of work behind the scenes to implement the executive order. Over the past seven months, the City of Houston Office of Business Opportunity (OBO), National LGBT Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC), and the Greater Houston LGBT Chamber of Commerce have been working together to formalize the recognition in the city's certified firms database.

Through hard work and dedication, the OBO team, led by Director Marsha Murray, has been working diligently to make the necessary changes to the database and more to recognize LGBT-owned businesses.
