Cabañas on Clark’s Cay, an all-inclusive private island getaway, is proud to announce the completion of major renovations to the Resort and dive operation, with a focus on making Guanaja a premier, world-class destination for adaptive diving. Clark's Cay is now a barrier-free resort where every guest, regardless of mobility, can independently navigate, enjoy, and experience all the Resort has to offer.

Four ADA-Compliant Suites built & integrated into the heart of the resort, purpose-built for adaptive divers from the ground up. These four units provide premium comfort and independent mobility for adaptive divers.

Resort-Wide Accessibility: Upgrading the 4 1/2-acre Resort footprint to meet ADA requirements for enjoyment of key resort amenities. This included replacing all walkways with new continuous, firm, and slip-resistant walkways; island-wide ramps that comply with the ADA safety and dimensional guidelines; construction of a low-arch bridge that passes over Clark’s famous lazy river to the infinity pool; and installing three lift systems so that adaptive divers have access to the lazy river, hot tub, and infinity pool.

Dive boat modifications were also made, including a lift system and the dive team well trained to deliver "best-in-class" deck-to-boat-to-water adaptive diving protocols.



“The makeover continues to be fine-tuned, but we were fortunate to have adaptive-diver Instructor-trainers from DiveHeart and Dive Pirates in recent months to critique our accommodations as well as support our first two adaptive divers over the week of the 4th of July,” stated Kirk Laney, Owner of Clark’s Cay and sister property Villa on Dunbar Rock. “An adaptive diver who is a member of the Eels on Wheels also visited and gave feedback, so our team's learning process is gaining momentum, and we are now ready to start to market to those less fortunate physically,” he concluded.
