WomenSpirit’s Current Book:

"Joyful Living:  A Story of Faith and Family"

What happens when a family's joy is tested by unimaginable tragedy? With her daughters facing grave health challenges, Robyn Scott-Johnson faces a storm that could break her spirit. But instead of despair, she finds an unshakeable inner strength fueled by love and faith in God. Her book is an uplifting journey through life's trials and triumphs. It is a powerful witness to the transformative power of faith and a beacon of hope for anyone walking through a difficult season. WomenSpirit invites women ages 20 and older to join our discussion through early October. We’ll also interview the author. We meet on Wednesdays, 7:30-9:00 pm over Zoom at https://us06web.zoom.us/j/84615703996. For more information contact Penelope Lattimer at pelattimer@aol.com

Stay NJ program, a new initiative introduced by the State of New Jersey to provide meaningful and real property tax relief for senior homeowners. Beginning in 2026, eligible residents aged 65 and older may receive a reimbursement of up to 50% off their property tax bill, with a maximum annual benefit of $6,500. To qualify, homeowners must have owned and occupied their primary residence in New Jersey for the entire calendar year of 2024 and have an annual income of $500,000 or less. If you are under the age of 65, but are receiving Federal Social Security Disability, you will also be able to qualify for the Stay NJ program. Please note that mobile homeowners are not eligible for this particular program.

Christ Church member, Anna Rose Gable, held a discussion of challenges facing Christ Church's undocumented neighbors. Click the button below to learn about various ways to get involved in efforts to provide relief.

Vestry Corner:

Key Topics from the

September 2025

Vestry Meeting

1. The vestry approved a Mission Statement Update process to start soon! Look for opportunities to participate in shaping a new mission statement that will help guide us into the Fourth Century! This work will also support our upcoming development of a Parish Profile and our discernment around our path moving forward.

2. We reviewed the exciting work being done by the Stewardship Committee and encourage all members to attend cottage meetings in the next few weeks. As part of our efforts to promote sensible Stewardship of our resources, we voted to pledge about $60,000 towards our Marks of Mission contribution to the diocese. This is a decrease from this year while still meeting about 80% of our asking.

3. Jonathan Clark shared updates from the various Discipleship Ministries, many of which continue to function smoothly. He and Daphne will meet soon to plan the discipleship offering for Advent. Look for updates in future weeks! We encourage all parishioners to participate in one or more discipleship endeavors, especially in this time of transition and discernment

Minutes of the July 2025 meeting can be found HERE.

Forward Day by Day booklets (large and small print) for August, September, and October, small copies of the November, December, and January have arrived. Please contact the office to have a copy mailed to your home.

The Episcopal Migration Ministries (EMM) and the Office of Government Relations (OGR) have launched a new Immigration Action Toolkit page on the Episcopal Church website.

This toolkit consolidates a wide range of resources in one place, making it a go-to destination for immigration information. While some resources focus on the Episcopal Church's response to the current situation, it also includes helpful links on topics like Family Preparedness and Know Your Rights, which are valuable to people of all faiths or none at all.

To stay updated on this ever-evolving issue and hear from knowledgeable

experts, a 30-minute weekly webinar is available. You can register here.
