2026 Ballot Guide:
What REALTORS® Should Know
The General Election is an important opportunity to make your voice heard on candidates and issues that directly impact our businesses, communities, property values, taxes, housing, and quality of life.
Your vote helps determine who will serve in elected office and gives you a say in statewide constitutional amendments and local ballot initiatives.
Elected officials shape public policies that affect your business, property rights, and community.
Make Your Voice Count— GO VOTE!
Early voting continues through tomorrow, Saturday October 31st.
Early voting sites are open: Saturday 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
General Election Day: Tuesday, November 3, 2026 | 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
| | The following Recommended Candidates will appear on the General Election Ballot November 3, 2026: | | The REALTOR® organization recommends candidates who champion issues related to real estate, home-ownership, and private property rights. | | |
The Space Coast Association of REALTORS® supports a YES vote on the following November 3, 2026 ballot initiatives:
Why it matters to Real Estate:
Healthy waterways. Strong schools. Safe communities. Homeownership.
These are more than quality-of-life issues- they are important to the strength of Brevard’s real estate market.
The Save Our Indian River Lagoon ½-Cent Sales Tax Renewal supports continued restoration of one of Brevard’s most important natural assets, while the Brevard Schools ½-Cent Sales Tax Renewal supports school security, facilities and technology.
Amendment 3 would increase the homestead exemption for Florida homeowners and limit annual increases in assessed values for non-homestead property. These changes could have a significant impact on homeowners, property taxes, businesses, investment properties and the overall real estate market.
Understanding these issues, and their potential impact—is important to every REALTOR® and the clients we serve.

Numerous legislative victories were achieved during Florida’s regular 2026 legislative session and the subsequent 2026 budget special session that will benefit the profession, property owners and communities throughout Florida.
Significant legislative victories include:
- Protecting consumers and Realtors by maintaining Florida’s existing Real Estate Regulatory Structure and Oversight
- Defending private property rights with stronger laws against people who use fraudulent information to occupy homes and rentals
- Preventing a confusing septic system disclosure at point of sale
- Protecting Realtors from liability in new property tax estimator disclosure
- $50 million for the Hometown Heroes Housing Program
- $236.5 million for state and local affordable housing programs
- $1.7 billion for water quality and restoration projects
- $405 million in unused funds to help Floridians harden their homes and condominiums
These wins are in addition to numerous other laws passed by lawmakers that impact Realtors and their businesses. Bills passed head to the governor for final approval.
