October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month!
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and it is also a good time to remind ourselves to take care of our health. Please make time for your recommended yearly screenings and checkups—mammograms, colonoscopies, prostate exams, skin checks, and other screenings appropriate for you. Early detection can make a difference.
Want to help more? Help a Stowe Woman battling Cancer by providing meals
I also invite you to consider providing a meal for Becky Carson a young Stowe woman and her husband. For the last 18 months Becky has been battling cancer and is currently undergoing a particularly difficult treatment leaving her very fatigued and weak. If you would like to help, consider signing up to provide a meal for her and her husband through Meal Train.
Meal Train
A simple meal is a small way to offer comfort, care, and support during a challenging time.

October Mission BOU - Breakfast On Us!
The Mission and Service Committee is pleased to highlight the United Community Church of Morrisville as our October Mission of the Month. Their Breakfast on Us ministry provides a free, hot breakfast to anyone in the community, five mornings a week. Since beginning in 2015, the ministry has grown to serve more than 10,000 breakfasts each year. More than just a meal, Breakfast on Us offers a welcoming place where people can gather, connect with others, and access additional community resources.
Kathy Miller will speak to our congregation on Sunday, October 18th during worship. She will share more about this important ministry and the many ways United Community Church of Morrisville reaches out to support people who may be experiencing food insecurity, homelessness, or other challenges. Through hospitality, food, and connection, their ministry strives to offer dignity and welcome to all.

Africa Trip Sign Up!
Trip Dates: July 8-15, 2027
Hi everyone, I have been working hard on the interfaith journey which will begin with a support trip to our Mission in Kenya. In June I shared beginning information about the upcoming trip with our congregation.
The long-awaited program for our spiritual journey and cultural service trip to Africa is ready. You can find our trip itinerary, options and details at their website https://bodymindspiritjourneys.com Our travel partner is with a division RMC Travel, whom I have used for over 20 trips for university local service trips and for our last, very successful interfaith Mission trip. You can also sign up for the trip at https://bodymindspiritjourneys.com/africa27-reg. Due to the size of our accommodations and the rural nature of our mission area, we will need to limit the trip to a smaller group. The recommended minimum age of participation is multigenerational, with a minimum age range of middle/high school.
Early registration is highly encouraged. Please free to reach out with any questions to my email:
anneb455@gmail.com or by phone at 802-355-8661
In faith, hope and love, Anne Bongiorno
